  1. I had something similar happen with a piece of frogspawn that came off. I just set it in a corner and left it, eventually it grew a base and I was able to attach the little nub to a frag plug. Now it’s 2-3”. Was just a little side experiment, wasn’t really expecting it to grow. As long as it’s not blowing away I would just leave it and see what happens, sounds like you have it in an ideal spot for it to grow or attach.

  2. That’s awesome. They are weird little buggers, I put in about 30 into my 210. About 20 in the display and 10 in my sump/grow out fuge that had aptaisa in it. I thought my wrasse wiped them all out but did finally see some in the display a few days ago. Slowly the aptasia are disappearing, but not sure they will make It to all of them. They take a while, still have lots of work to do. Wouldn’t mind getting some more in the future from you 👍 saltyunderground wants a mint for them...glad I bought during the sale.

  3. In the past I found about 16ish hours was a pretty decent sweet spot and just opposite your primary lighting schedule. When I ran 24 hours growth wasn’t as good. Been a long time though since I’ve had a Chaeto based fuge, right now I just grow nems in my fuge when I can catch them from my display 😂. Not really for nutrient export though, but I do run it slightly offset from my primary lights to help with pH.

The stand has 2 doors that are 19”wide x 21” high. The inside is 16” deep. So not sure how big of tank I can fit in there

You have pics of the stand? How much space is available under the stand?

With only 16 deep that eliminates a 40b. A 20 long might fit depending on the door setup.

  5. From someone who lost the battle with Majanos, my advice is if the rocks can be physically removed and treated (majano removed physically with razor and area burnt with a torch), I would do that instead. I have a laser and tried that, which does kind of knock them back but they almost always still come back. Majano wand wasn’t affective in my experience. Good luck.

  6. Most space/volume you can fit is usually nicest. As Brian says, you can go basic and cheap with a 40B tank conversion or go crazy with so high end sump.

Ive been happy with my eshopps sump but it’s for a 200 gal tank (R300 model), so hard to compare to a smaller option.

The HOB skimmer is probably not ideal. I’d sell it and go with an in sump model, they usually work better and will fit correctly without making your sump configuration super awkward. These days a pretty decent skimmer new can be had for $200 or less for a tank your size.

May look for a used one or catch a sale (there are some going on right now on the big online vendors).

  7. Good luck, I tried cerium oxide powder on a glass buffing disc on my car detailing rotary buffer. The powder makes a HUGE mess. Didn’t work out well. Hope you have a better experience 😬

  8. I am curious as well to see what others have to say. We recently bought an A-Frame camper and gives me an excuse to pick one up as an emergency backup for my tank as well.

I am trying to figure out a dual fuel one so I don’t have to worry about gas with the camper and can just use propane from the dual tanks it has already on it.

Also, we were fortunate not to lose power in Camas during this outage. Overall I don’t think I’ve lost power at our house yet (knocks on all available wood!)
