Amazing setup! My wife would sell my reef in an instant for that lol, she loves seahorses but I've always been a little worried to keep them. A few questions though:

Where do you get the live mysis? Can they be hatched (like brine)?

Is it completely critical they be fed 2x a day? Does the time of day matter? IE two feelings say 6 hours apart evenings vs a true AM/PM feeding?

Are there any corals to avoid keeping with seahorses other than nems?

I think many of the uploading sites will resize for you when you upload.

Not saying that zeroed out phosphates are bad, but my corals really responded when I brought them up a hair. You may want to try some AcroPower at least, i run it on a doser along with my Ca reactor. Maybe give them some oyster feast occasionally also. Corals are gluttons and will eat as much as you feed them, so make sure you keep them fed!

Wondering a few more things, how are your levels? What are you dosing? Bio load?

I ask these things because at one point I found myself in a similar situation and was thinking my lights were the culprit. It turned out that my nutrients were too low and I was dosing vodka also, basically leaving next to nothing for the corals to eat. Colors sucked, growth slowed, etc.

After identifying this as the issue, I started feeding more, dosing aminos, no more vodka dosing and the tank has done a 180, colors and growth has been crazy. Just saying to cover your bases. Lighting may be playing into it but many other factors to analyze.

At that size tank a wrasse is likely your best choice. We are lucky around here that the local shops get some cool ones in.

Hawaiian flame wrasses are cool and not something you see everyday. I had a tamarin wrasse that was unique as well. Finding a male tamarin would be very cool if someone could order you one.

Oh yeah, the housing can be rotated around haha, I was wondering why you did that.

That's a lot of elbos, which is going to reduce the efficiency a bit, any reason you didn't go straight in?

Yes, mine isn't "branded" or anything but same light. Layouts vary slightly but the one he posted looked more or less identical.

What about a used filter sock or small piece of rock?

Very cool, I'd keep them at half or less to avoid bleaching out your corals. Getting a 3rd light is totally up to you and if you want higher light corals in the middle. You can mount them higher for better spread, I think mine are like 18-24" up.

dont understand whats wrong with the bubbleblaster.. its all clean.. impellar looks fine.. but it spins then stops or doesnt start at all... oh well im liking this dc pump idea but need to get the ball rolling on it... its day 2 no skimmer :o

Sounds like a bearing on the shaft or the magnet going out, either way it's a new impeller to fix. If you want to bring your pump by I'll install the impeller for ya, just takes a second. PM me about it.

Ok how difficult is it to do all that because I have a dc 12000 sitting here collecting dust

It takes about 5 minutes to convert to a skimmer pump. The only part I'm not sure about is converting the threading on the outlet to match skimmer inlet.

Buy a DC12000, a pinwheel and volute from me, and adapt it to the sro3000. BAM! DC powered beast!

That's the one you want, it's low range phosphate checker. The regular one only reads whole numbers

They are pretty cheap on eBay, for a BB5k you should get one that reads up to 100 Scfh and you can use it on other pumps in the future. The BB5k should be around 72 Scfh depending on any restrictions from the silencer or tubing.

I recently discovered my silencer to be gunked up inside. I would check if it pulls harder if disconnected from the silencer. Also the inside of the volute can get pretty gunked up if not cleaned out well.

Some LFS sell tigger pods in a bottle. I believe someone on here was culturing some though. If they were easy to catch off my glass id give you tons LOL
