  1. pH and Alkalinity?

Here is a link to the article I was reading. http://www.aquatic-plants.org/articles/basics/pages/04_co2.html
  2. pH and Alkalinity?

You can use PH and alk reading to measure your CO2 I just recently read this however i forgot where it was. I have been do some research on planted tanks =)
  3. 20L AIO Peninsula

I had forgoten that I did an update when I transfered everything over. Kinda nice to see just how much everything has grown in the last 2 1/2 months =)
  4. 20L AIO Peninsula

Just wanted to give an update. I moved this from the 20l into a 29 same footprint just taller. I made my own overflow but never drilled it because I am not running a sump. I use the over flow compartment for my ato and heater. I have the intake for my sunsun canister filter in there as well so kind of a Hybrid AIO. I have been running my reef skimmer less with a canister filter sense last spring and for a nano tank with out SPS it has done great. I run the 9w UV sterilizer 24/7 not sure if it has any positive or negative effects but makes me feel better so there is that. My 2 fish are happy and healthy and really appreciate the extra swim room. It has been approximately 2 months sense I moved them to the new tank. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  5. Sand

It might look a little out of place with the color most substrates used in reef tanks are black or white not sure how well it would look in a brightly lit and colorful reef with the tanish brown color. Physically though I don't think it would pose a problem and is very cheap which is a plus. Might look good in a display fuge though.
  6. 20L AIO Peninsula

Tank Transfer complete. I will get a new build thread started down the road with all the nitty-gritty details of my setup. Changed from a custom 20l AIO to a custom 29 AIO set up wich gives my two little fishes a whole lot more swimming room. Which they needed. The corals all opened right up so must have done something right =) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  7. Not out yet 6 heads and rollin! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  8. Tank Change approval?

  9. Anyone heading to the Rebelution show?

What is Rebelution? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  10. Algae scrubber

The air stone creates a oxigen rich environment which promotes the rapid growth of nitrifying bacteria think trickle tower or wet dry filter which rapidly convert the ammonia and nitrite into nitrates and the algae is then consumes them. At least that is my theory I have no proof but it makes sense to me =) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  11. Home renovation time, can I do it on my own?

If it is LP siding now would be a good time to look at replacement. You should remove the siding around the window then when you have the new window in you can measure and cut to fit. The new Windows will not be the exact same size as the old ones also not a bad I Dea to have a few extra pieces on hand when you start. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

Depends on how far it goes but yeah simple framing and some extra sheet rock work no big deal it is when it gets all the way down to the sill on the foundation that it becomes more of a big project and may want to get some out side help at that point. 13. Howdy folks Got a question the rules state no tank changes for the duration of the growout. I was hoping to ply for a stay of execution. If not no big deal. What I am looking at is currently I have the frag in a 20g long. With plans this fall / winter /possibly spring setting up a 75g for my reef. However in the mean time my 2 fish 1 clown and 1 starry blenny are getting a little cramped in the current configuration. I picked up a 29 tall at petco. Same footprint just taller moor swimming room. The stand and lighting and all equipment will be the same just a taller tank. And new sand. Let me know if this will violate the no tank swapping rule if not I am looking forward to the conclusion of this growout if so no big deal at least I got a killer zoa for a participation trophy =) Thanks Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

It is really not that complicated the one thing to watch out for with the aluminum framed windows is you have a good chance of finding dry rot because of how much they sweat. It is pretty common and once you open that Pandora's box of dry rot you gotta ride the wave and repair it all. =) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  15. Seahorse tank!

After rock and sand how many gallons of water does this hold. Very cool and unique nano. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
