  1. Awesome write up Robert! It was a great time. Very cool getting to talk with Scott, and put a voice and face to his rants over on r2r! Great job and big thanks to all the club members and others that made this happen.
  2. I've been totally happy going the fairy wrasse route. There are so many cool ones out there, and they are all relatively mellow and are always out and about. I dig tangs and bennies too. But my blue faced angel is the standout that most people are drawn to.
  3. I'm dosing 10 seconds a day with my 1.1 ml/min pump, which is too small for me to figure out right now. I'm still showing zero nitrates. Tank is looking good though. I've noticed s couple things though. My fuge has no more cyano slime growing on top, and it has an explosion of small brittlestars all over in the algae.
  4. Chris, I've got two 18g totes, and 25g and 40g brute containers you can borrow while reworking the 55.

    I need teeth!

I was searching for pictures of a hair comb to post (to be a jerk), but I've got a router and bits and could actually help! Tap always has thick black acrylic laying in their scrap bin too.
  6. Hah! The led light is making me lough out loud! The puzzle thing is helping me understand what the heck couples can do for fun...struggling with that a bit being single for so long.
  7. I had two IT2040's over my 90g for a while. Worked excellent, and grew the heck out of my SPS. I'm running Kessil's now with T5 supplementation. I highly recommend the OR lights. Single 2080 probably wouldn't do the trick imo.
  8. I love african chiclids! That's what started me in the hobby. Mouth brooders are so amazing to watch. I really likethe Lake Tanganyika fish too. It got out of control for me; three different tanks going to raise all the babies they kept having.
  9. I've got green with blue polyp that I could snap a big piece off for you.
  10. Well almost one week out and taking my first measurements. Nitrates aren't registering on test kit, even at low range. I've cut back from recommended 11 ml/day to 3 ml/day. I expected it to take at least a couple weeks to start dropping. Tank looks completely unphased though luckily. More next week!
  11. I'm a week into the Red Sea N03-X product. Dosing 11 ml/day with my handy dandy BRS doser. Reading about it, it is something between vodka, vinegar, and sugar. Read about lots of great long term results with it, and it's really not that much more than a bottle of vodka. Plus, I'm less likely to drink it :-)
  12. Ooh, that's a challenge with a big enough reward it could be worth doing just because! I'm with Chris on this. Question: what's going on with ich during the periods that no fish have it? If it has a 12 week life cycle, and your fish are all healthy for say 26 weeks, then how is it still in your tank?
  13. I have had good success with tropical science marine max through the years when one of my tangs would get ich. Totally reef safe. It might be complete bs, but it has worked ime.
  14. Upscales! Unless you're buying enough to get free shipping, local is the bomb
  15. Surely somebody needs this. Great option on a cube for return.
  16. I just did! Simply delete your old bookmark, navigate to this spot, then create new bookmark. I forgot that's how I did it with the old website too.
  17. Wow, I finally screwed around enough to figure out how to get a usable view! View New Content, then click on Forums instead of the default Home. Viola! Shows me all posts in order of last post.
  18. Lowes has true union ball valves, but they are not the nice ones that are actually able to be turned on and off easily.
  19. would you sell just one? I don't want some thrashed beat up pump that some pot head dosed his ganja stash with though... ;-)
  20. That's exactly what I'm thinking. 3-4 should be high enough for my fuge to stay alive. I think I'm going to try the Red Sea NO3:PO4-X product.
