  1. wow what a bummer... that whole thing did turn out to be a ton of work for us even, I can only imagine what he is going through...
  2. Whats the DE stand for? double ended?
  3. Thanks for the input, it's nice to get some opions before I drop any hard earned dollars on equipment!
  4. I am kinda sad that nobody has any advice...?
  5. My display tank is 20"x15"x18". I currently am blasing it with a 15k 400 watt Pheonix type with 80w of pc actinic and another 96w of 50/50 (sounds like alot) anywho I am interested in a change but there are so many options out there. I Like the way the new HQI fixtures look but have no clue how many watts I really should be pumping through my tank. Also would be nice if I could continue to use my current ballest. Any input/opinions or advice would be helpful in my purchase of the right unit. Thanks Patt
  6. Yes thanks for all your hard work Brad!! I will also pick up ASAP, if they come end of the week I wont be available till about 730 PM Thur-SAT.
  7. WOW!!! What an emotional roller coaster... and now im back to wishing I could have attended the meeting!
  8. "Share the love" Good luck everyone and thanks for the give away CA2OR!
  9. Congrats man!! Far too many of our friends and familly are lost to substance abuse! Welcome back!!
  10. I must also add: I dont have a ton of Acro so I have no idea how they will react.
  11. I just did a breakdown on a much smaller scale. I put the liverock in a tub, transplanted everything else into my sump and refugium, after shutting all the valves, saved most of my water and when I got down to the last few inches I scooped the sand I wanted to save then sucked all the grime out with a shope-vac. I rinsed the sand with some of the water I saved, added back the water and sand let things settle then put the livestock back and did a water change. I had no adverse effects but again this was a total of 40gal. Took me all day!
  12. I have restricted the drain but I put a filter sponge on the 1" pvc overflow that way nothing can fall down in and resrict the flow. I imagine if I neglected the tank for a long period of time I could have problems. I have been running this way for several years now with no overflowing events. Now if I could figure out a way to stop spilling water every other day...!
  13. I just put a valve on my pvc drain line (after the overflow) and am able to adjust the flow enough to get rid of the slurrping... It was a simple fix $5 valve and done. Now if only I could get my skimmer to shut up.
  14. Just wanted to say thanks again for all the great stuff!! Only took me about an hour and a half to figure out what to do with all of it =)
  15. Thats a nice piece! Too bad you are two hours south of me....
