  1. Hey There! I havent done it yet because I was waiting to see where all the equipment was going to end up located once I had it all running and cycling in case i had to make changes. The tank is a little over 2 months old now running and is doing very well so I will be adding that little fuge in the next 2 weeks and see how it works. Thanks for the reply. All that rock i got from you is really awesome, it continues to get more pink/purple almost daily and the life in and on it is thriving. We see pods daily crawling around the rocks. Thanks, Dean
  2. Went to see Tim at Westside Aquarium a couple of times now and I like him more and more each time I talk to him. I am disabled in a scooter and Tim is extremely helpful and accomidating to me. His live rock is awesome looking and you get a ton of it for the money. I highly recommend you get out to see him, I know my son-in-laws and I will be doing lots of business with Westside, it's nice to have someone close to Forest Grove that is knowledgable, has a good selection and has healthy and thriving animals!!! Go out to Westside Aquairum and give Tim a try!!! You wont regret it... Thanks Tim!!! Dean (clap)
  3. I have a used Tunze 9002 Skimmer available for sale. I dont have a use for it at the moment as I have another one of these skimmers on a 30g bowfront and works great. It is rated up to 52 U.S. gallons. Thanks, let me know if you want it as soon as you can. It's definately worth the price. It's a good little skimmer. Tunze 9002 DOC Skimmer - $60 Firm I will post a photo of it tonight or tomorrow. Thanks, Dean Forest Grove, OR 97116
  4. I have for sale a CPR Bakpak 2R+ Hang on Back Protein Skimmer with the Rio 600 Pump, Prefilter BBPS, Bubble Trap NBT (New in package), & 2 strainer bags & clamps. Ready to go, works great. Used. For tanks up to 60 gallons. This is the reef version. $60
  5. I guess my main purpose is to produce pods. I figured I have nothing that I am using in that chamber, so why not create a small refugium in it? What could it really hurt? If it doesnt work out, I'll remove it. What could be potential downsides of doing it? Take Care, Dean
  6. Thanks for all the advice, it's well taken. Take Care, Dean
  7. Hello, I would like to put some LR Rubble and Cheato into Chamber 1. I will be using Chamber 2 for a skimmer so no room left there. Will there be any issues with using chamber 1 for a small refugium? It's about 15 inches deep and 4" wide but kind of triangular in shape. Any tips or advice here?? I could really use any help here. Will it work? Here is a photo of what it looks like. This is kind of a built in rear overflow/sump on a 40g truvu system.
  8. - 40 Gallon TruVu Aquasystems Acrylic Tank (36x15x16) I plan for this to be mostly for soft corals, zooa's, and the like, a few fish, shrimp, CUC, etc. So Far I have the following: - HQI Fixture 250w MH w/ Blue Lunar Moon Lights - Koralia 2 Power Head - Rear Sump Return Pump - ViaAqua Multi Reactor (for AC, Phosban, Etc) Tied into Return Pump w/ Ball Valve - 43 Lbs of Live Rock - 20 Lbs of Sand (Shallow Sand Bed) - 6 Stage RO/DI System (Tank as it was before scratch treatment) (Rear overflow/sump chamber setup) (Tank after scratch treatment filled and running) No live animals in tank yet, just 9 days into the cycle started with ammonium chloride. Plan on taking it slow and not rushing into adding animals too fast. I do plan on adding a protein skimmer but I am still deciding on which one. I have limited options given the size of my rear sump chambers. I want to get the best one that I can possibly afford but making sure it fits also. I will post more photos as I go. Thanks!
  9. Hey there, thanks for the live rock, some neat pieces in there. I really love it and appreciate the good deal on it. I'm going out tonight to pick up the rest of the rock i want in there. I'll look at the skimmers you mention, I am really open to a different skimmer than the Aqua C, it just has to fit the requirements i guess. Thanks again for your help.
  10. What other skimmers that are better than the Aqua C may be an option for me given the setup? I only have a certain amount of room in my overflow/sump (Simmers that are more than 4" in diameter or thick will be to large to fit down in it.) The Aqua C is a little less than 3" thick so i know it's fit fine. I am open to options as I know there are a lot of skimmers out there, I'm just not sure what would fit in my sump and would be a better option than the Aqua C.
