7. Hi, I have some (well, a lot, actually) small anemones (I'm not sure the species) that I'd like to give away for free. The heads are about the size of a dime or nickel. I started with just one. I'm not even really sure where it came from. But now there are probably about a hundred in my tank. You're welcome to as many as you like. I don't have a picture of the exact ones in my tank but here is a link to something similar.
8. I've also been dosing 2-part by hand and looking at moving toward automating it with peristaltic pumps. Soon as I save up some dough.
9. Thanks. Just a warning. Version 1.0 was pretty simple. I probably should have waited until the changes I added for version 1.1 before I released it to the app store. I'm still waiting for apple to approve 1.1. Once it's approved it will be a free update. I think it's much better in the way the information is displayed. I'm working on adding the ability to graph the historical data next. But that may take some time to work out.

11. Hi. I wrote a simple free iPhone app for anyone using an RKE controller with the RKM-NET module. It was just posted to the iTunes App Store last night. The first release is just a simple display of your RKE's RSS values. You will need to have your RKM-NET module set up to have the RSS feed turned on and if you want to access it over the internet you will need to have your router set up to allow port forwarding to your RKM-NET. If you have any questions on how to do this, check out the RKM-NET forums on http://www.forum.digitalaquatics.com/viewforum.php?f=22. I'm already working on adding new features and the ability to graph historical data. The plan is that as DA add capabilities to the NET module that I will add those capabilities to the iPhone app. To download the app, click This link. Special thanks to Andy for permission to use his great photography as artwork for the App's icon!
12. Holding it for THBronco. Eric, if you ever come up this way for something else and need a lobe, I think I can easily frag another piece off for you.
13. From the pictures and descriptions I see elsewhere, this looks pretty much like a Loco Lobo. I bought it from Garrett and it's gotten quite a bit bigger so I needed to take some of the lobes off.
14. Not looking for anything special. Maybe a small frag of zoos or whatever you have around (except green star polyps and pallies as I have enough of those). If you have nothing to trade but are interested in the frag, I'd sell it for $10.
15. I have a fairly large piece I cut off my Devil's Hand leather coral because it was just getting too big. The "frag" is about 9 inches or the size of a softball when fully extended. I have it tied down to a rock and it seems to be doing well. I cut it about a week and a half ago. I'm interested in trying to trade it for something if anyone has anything. Let me know if you're interested. Three pictures attached. First two are of the piece I'm trading and the other is the parent colony. I don't know how popular these leathers are. If multiple people are interested I can cut some more lobes off the parent colony because it is still getting too large.
16. About all I ever see of my fire shrimp is his feelers. I almost never see my very large spiny brittle star.
17. Also interested in some orange, blue, pink or purple. Please add me to the list.
18. I bought an RPS-1000 skimmer off of Craigs List last summer that turned out to be sort of a not so good deal. I think it was a demo unit from a local aquarium shop because some of the pieces weren't even glued together. It turns out it was manufactured by a local shop in Vancouver, NW Plex. I contacted them and they let me trade it in for another skimmer that was more appropriate size for my tank and was put together correctly (with a significant difference in cost). It was an RPS-2000. I paid the difference, got the skimmer home and discovered it did not have an advertised needle wheel impeller but rather had just the standard impeller. The skimmer isn't working as well as I'd like. I tried to mesh mod the impeller to make it work better but still not much luck. It has a generic Chinese pump on it so I can't seem to find replacement parts for it. Has anyone had experience with these NW Plex made skimmers and happen to know where I can buy a needle wheel impeller that will fit in the pump that comes on it? Thanks in advance.
19. Today is the third day of my purple tang in the QT. My wife called me at work and said the fish was laying on it's side and not swimming right. It looked fine this morning when I came to work and I fed it a little food. It looked like the cysts were slowly receding but now I'm worried the fish may not be doing as well as I originally thought.
20. Thanks! And it wouldn't have been possible without all the great advice, help, and borrowed equipment to get me started. Thanks Andy!
21. Thanks. You know, from pictures I've seen of Anthias, I wasn't all that interested in the fish. But I'll tell you once I got one, she's one of my favorite fish in the tank. Such a beautiful fish with fine delicate details in the coloring. I just picked her up at Seahorse a couple weeks ago. I wish I had grabbed another one at the same time. They're such beautiful fish.
22. Video tour of the tank after 5 months I put together a little video tour of my tank after 5 months. The production quality is not the greatest. But some of you should recognize some of of the pieces in the tank. Lots of corals from Andy and Garrett, Jim. And you can even see the purple tang (covered in ich) that I'm treating. It's looking great now by the way in the QT. Trever's Video Tank Tour - 3:36
23. No worries. I wanted to hear all sides and experiences and try to form my plan based on that. If you had an experience where you didn't treat a fish and it survived, then I wanted to know that as well. Thanks for your help.
24. Thanks all for the advice. I took the route of treating it. I set up a 29 gallon tank, had it brew over night to get the salt mixed in and temperature up. I spent a couple hours trying to "gently" catch the tang. Though it ended up with me tearing all my rockwork apart to get the guy. After transferring him to the QT tank, I was a little nervous because he went all pale. I have some things in there for him to hide in and I left the lights off to try to reduce the stress. I treated with Cupramine 1.5 drops per gallon instead of the 2 drops per gallon recommended on the bottle. It says to re-dose in 48 hours. I also bought a bottle of the Garlic Xtreme which I hear great things about. Better be good for the price! How much can garlic really cost, right? haha. $30 for a small bottle! But, hey if it works, it's worth it. This morning, the tang looked a little better color-wise. Though he must still be pissed off because his fins were still all erect as if he were in defensive mode. He did manage to eat some flakes and arcti-pods I put in the tank. Tonight I'll feed mysis and garlic again. I understand the recommendation of quarantining all new incoming fish and rocks. Unfortunately it's not practical. If I had a little more spare room for a permanent QT tank I might consider it. I'm pretty much going to have to deal with the symptoms as they occur. One thing I learned in this experience that may have actually been the root of the problem is that I did a totally noob move when transferring the tang into my tank. I touched it with my hand. :( That probably messed with the fish's natural mucus coating thus making it susceptible to the ich which was already in my tank. The rest of my fish seem to be clear of ich so far. I think the tang may have never had a problem if I had not contacted in the way I did. Now I know never to touch the fish (learning from my mistakes).
