  1. I don't have a calcium reactor on my system yet and have been wanting one for a while now. which one of these options do you think would work best on my system? I still have the 45g stretch hex with the 35 gal swim tank and 25gal refugium attached.
  2. I was looking at mt zoas when I saw this thing picking up bits of substrate and dropping them. It looks kind of like an elephants trunk rooting around in the sand. What in the great big blue is this thing?(scratch) With in the same two minutes I was looking at my tank I also saw every Stomatella snail in my tank stick its tail end up and squirt sperm into the tank. It was a very exciting tank viewing. My tank never fails to amaze me.
  3. Thanks for all the good feed back every one. Turns out in fact that it was the heater. it died the next day. Fortunately it died in the off position so it didn't cook my tank. I am a bug fan if the GFCI outlets. Mine tripped while my hand was stuck in the tank and I was being shocked. The shock stopped instantly. Thanks GFCI. It looks like the main point brought up so far is that you don't want to be the object that grounds the charge. After reading this thread I for one am going to be wearing rubber shoes when doing my tank maintenance from now on just in case.
  4. I keep getting shocked when I stick my hand in the tank.(scary) I got a volt meter so I could unplug things and see if i could figure out what has malfunctioned but the thing is useless. I can feel the electricity when I touch the water and the meeter doesn't detect anything. I suspect a heater but I don't want to keep sticking my hand in the tank to test it. Any one have any ideas? i do have everything plugged onto a GFI outlet. It only tripped once. Mostly I get a very uncomfortable tingle or sting from the water.
  5. I am up to 8 that open and 2 more buds that haven't opened yet. They didn't want to cooperate well for the photo. Open (Mostly.)......................................................................Closed
  6. I sent you a PM. I can help move the tank help set it up if you need help.
  7. It always amazes me how much people can cram into their sump/aquarium stand.
  8. In your ideal scenario you recommend having the water from the tank feed directly to the skimmer and then to the sump. Most skimmers are not gravity fed, how do you balance the flow between the sump and the main tank.
