  1. tank Is this still available? We are moving and I need to take some measurements, but my tank exploded in our house fire eight months ago and we are just moving home this week and would love a new tank
  2. Comes with tank and stand and cabinets?

    FIRE

While we were on our honeymoon, a fire started underneath our 90 gallon reef. Tank expoded and put most of the fire out, saving the rest of our pets. I guess that's how you know when the honeymoon's over:) We should be getting a remodel of the basement and first floor though. RIP little fishies (and corals, and anemones and shrimp and...ugh)(sad)
  4. Our tank is plagued with microbubbles. We have had the tank for over a year and a half and have always had the problem off and on. We have pretty much ignored the problem, but since we moved six monthes ago, our tank has also really liked to grow hair algae... This used to be fun, now it is just a game of pulling weeds and trying to keep things alive, not watching them grow. No fun anymore! I have tried EVERYTHING under the sun to prevent or cure the algae: (water changes, phosphate reactor, turning down lights and feeding, scubbing, pulling) and still the algae is winning the war. Microbubbles are clinging to everything. I thought that maybe that is the root of the algae issue and can not find the source of the microbubble problem. I have all return lines (phosphate reactor, calcium reactor, overflow, chiller, skimmer) flowing into a sock to try to alleviate the problem without success. Help! I am ready to throw it all out the window!DOH!(nutty)
  5. what part of Portland are you in? Can I come see it sometime this week?
  6. yup (sad)The algae that is strangling me is hair algae (I also have a huge bloom of macro algae but that is easy enough to remove) I have ro/di...I have pulled rocks and wire brushed...I have a hefty current...skimmer, phosphate reactor, clacium reactor, ozone...all the same things that were there prior to the move (except the purchase of this phosphate reactor that I had no need for before)(sad)
  7. We never ever had an algae problem in our big tank. We moved in late June, kept everything the same (including all of the water) except for the sand. We tossed it all and got new sand. Our tank has had a rediculous algae problem ever since! I have tried turning off the lights for a few days, a phospahte reactor, adding to the clean up crew, doing water changes, plucking, scrubbing, pulling algae and my hair out(flame) The water parameters test just fine...what the heck? I expected a small re-cycling period after the move, but this is just frustratingDOH!(threaten)
  8. I am looking for something glass and that is more than two feet deep, but what would you want for it?
  9. I would love to upgrade to a 225 or 300 glass. I currently have a 90. Anyone thinking about downsizing?
  10. That should help convince hubby:) Did you have to upgrade your chiller and skimmer too? We would have the same lighting situation as you, but would need to upgrade our chiller, skimmer, and calcium reactor.
  11. Has anyone upgraded from about 100 gal to 200 or 300 that can tell me the cost difference (mainly electrical I guess) in running the tank?
  12. micro dendro I will take the micro dendro if still available Kristin
  13. I'll send you home with some roses from my yard for your wife;)
