  1. Looks like the sump has a hole in the lower side. What is the diameter of the hole?
  2. I will take 55 gallon and the light that goes to it and 20 and 30 gallon that have not been exposed to copper. Just let me know your address and a good time and we'll be there to pick them up. Thanks.
  3. Could you post a pic of the MH fixture and ballast? Wondering what kind of ballast this is - HQI, magnetic, electronic? Is the light fixture SE or DE? Thanks.
  4. Does the tank have built in overflows? Is it glass or acrylic? Can you give a list of equipment and the specifics of each? Thanks.
  5. I was wondering if this system is still for sale? If so, will you be posting pics and listing the specifics of the system?
  6. I just purchased a used ETSS 800XR skimmer and I was wondering what type of pump to get for it. My tank is in our familyroom so I would want to limit noise as much as possible. It is a 72 gallon bow front that requires a hang on overflow. I currently have a couple of HOB biowheel filters set up on it so I will need to do a complete setup. I am kicking around the idea of where to locate the sump. The easiest would be below the stand but I was also considering running the plumbing under the house and out to the garage where I could have more room to work and setup a nice refugium. What I don't like about that is that the garage gets very cold during the winter and the potential for a pipe burst if we have freezing weather. Any recommendations? Thanks.
  7. Around 2 weeks ago my 72 gallon reef tank which was flourishing up to that point, started showing signs of something very wrong, fish started to die and corals were closing up. I immediately transferred what livestock I could to another tank I had running and was able to save a couple of fish and 1 coral. Within 2-3 days, even the B-worms had come to the sand surface and died. I cleaned out what I could that was dead and did water changes. I had the water tested at a LFS and it seemed fine. They even tested it for copper and it was negative. LFS thought that something must have fallen in tank to poison it. I emptied the tank this weekend, stirred up the sand, and vacuumed as much of the yuck on top of the sand I could but found nothing strange. Cleaned out the filter, replaced heater with a new one in case it was damaged. I then put all new saltwater in it and replaced the live rock which was kept damp overnight in separate bins. I am on the fence about if this tank needs to cycle again since I have all new salt water. While trying to get all of the yuck off the sand, I did use straight fresh water with some Prime to vacuum up. Am I truly starting from scratch again? Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  8. I am considering purchasing an Octopus Recirc. Skimmer. I was looking at Pacific Coast Imports RPS-3000 PCI RPS-3000 and a Coral Vue OCT-DNW-200 Coral Vue OCT-DNW-200 . I am not sure what is the difference between these two skimmers if anything other than the Coral Vue seems to be cheaper. I have found a significant price difference with the Coral Vue being cheaper. Can anyone tell me why the PCI one is more expensive? Is it a better skimmer and why? Also, I am thinking of upgrading to a 180 gallon tank in the near future and want to get something that will handle that capacity. I was initially looking at the RPS-2000 and the OCT-DNW-150 but it seems that their max level is ~ 185 gallons. Better to go with the larger skimmer or not? Thanks.
  9. I was wondering if you had any pictures of the 180 gallon tank. Is this a glass tank? Does it have: built in overflows closed loop system?
  10. I was wondering if this tank was plumbed for a closed looped system. Also, I appears to have a built in overflow, is that correct?
