  1. The least I can do to support everything you do for the club! Always a joy to talk to you as well - wish I had more time for that at the meeting but I got distracted by coral (squirrel!). I recall just how welcoming you (and Kim) were at my first meeting (of the "new era") at your house (summer BBQ) and it really motivated me to try and contribute to the group however/whenever I can. Love hanging out with you all...
  2. Wholeheartedly agree with this! it does seem like there is more interest and enthusiasm these days (compared to when I last spent time with the group) which is great to see. I recall trying to nominate a few of the outstanding contributors back in the day but people just didn't have the time to spare - which I totally understand. I think we have a very engaged and committed leadership group right now and this really helps foster excitement in others.
  3. Wouldn't dream of it Cherany! Wouldn't be the same without you - I can't think of anyone with the combination of fish knowledge, energy, enthusiasm and color sense who could possibly replace you? Love hanging out talking fish with you and I always come away having learned something. You're the best!
  4. Love these fish! I wish I could keep one but my tangs would terrorize the poor thing. Hope it does well with Fred and Ginger ?
  5. Beautiful tank Bill! Thanks for the undercover work Cherany... definitely worth sharing.
  6. Yep - Cherany has you covered! Good luck with the meter!
  7. As a supporting member, you can sign up to borrow one of the two units the club has for use. Just go to this thread and ask Cherany to add you to the list in the comments and she will take care of the rest. Shouldn't be too long a wait now that we have two.
  8. It was a pleasure to help out - especially since it allowed Sirena to make it on the party bus. After all the work she put in that would have been unthinkable for her to miss it! Thanks again for the delicious burritos Sirena!
  9. Glad to hear you got some help with the babies - hoping both yours and Andy's will make it through.
  10. Hey Kim - I think pdxmonkeyboy may have some on hand.
  11. Some nice pieces there Bret!
  12. Thanks for the great pics (as always) Bert! Was indeed an awesome day with some great folk, killer shopping and super sweet raffle deals. Thanks again to everyone who worked so hard to put this together including our generous sponsors - great work everyone!
  13. Thanks for the info - this looks to be a worthwhile aid for helping to get a Ca reactor dialed in. Obviously, a peristaltic is the ultimate but they are costly (in my recollection) so not practical for all. Also, we used them in the lab all the time and failure of the flex tubing (that sits on the rollers) was a regular occurance. Not sure if folk have experienced that as much in this application.
  14. Good luck Bret! We seem to have lots of seahorse babies around these days. Will be excited to see some of them grow up!
  15. This is a real nice application for one of these. Where did you source yours Bill?
  16. Good guess! I spend 15 for 5# tank swaps at Home Brewers Exchange over on Intererstate. Nice thing about that is they are open Sat and Sunday - which isn't true for many of the welding places. Home brewing... not just for beer anymore.
  17. Ok, ok... you guys are all shamming me into setting up the peristaltic pump. One more piece of gear to cram into the cabinet. The one bad thing about it is the possibility of split flex tubbing. - good idea to change that out on a semi regular basis. And Jorge - you were missed today man!
  18. Well, if you can't fit it all in let me know - am starting a rehomimg service for Millis and would be happy to help you out ? Indeed - good to see so many familiar faces and some new additions as well. Definitely a fun event! Thank you to Sirena, Kim and all the rest who worked so hard to put it together and also a big thank you to all the vendors who were such gracious hosts and contributed such awesome raffle prizes.
  19. Haha! Lots of fond memories of 80s music - Rodney on the rock (KROQ Pasadena) and the hey day of MTV. Hold on a second... I know I have my Betamax copy of purple rain around here somewhere....
  20. I want the 80s mix tape! I want the 80s mix tape! Oh wait... I'm not even on the bus... never mind ?
  21. And here I was making fun of Cherany for Michael Bolton ? That will teach me! ?
  22. As it turns out this is exactly where I landed for a pH setpoint for that reason. Still working on getting the flow to stabilize.
  23. Interesting - I wondered about flipping it and regulating on the effluent side instead for that very reason but haven't tried it yet. I managed to get my old unit to stabilize but the new one is being a bit of a bear.
  24. Oh man Kim - you should have done this! Would have solved your DT space issues... at least for a couple of weeks ?
