  1. I'm with Theron. I'm probably going to get a 27". I'll get a tall stand too, 40+ inches. I'm 6'4" and hate bending over to look. I figure at 27" It'll be "a little wrong and a little right". Better than all wrong at 24 or 30.
  2. I would buy one if it is soft and if the lettering/logos are the kind that won't chafe.
  3. My pink milli is high up in my tank right under a 250W DE Phoenix. One of my best growers and good PE. It browned out when I first got it but colored up over a couple of weeks. I think your coral might be a little pissed because it is getting moved around so much too.
  4. I take it each foot of 25 3W LED's is what approximates a 250W MH. So looks like coverage at 24" of depth is 21" if I read the picture correctly. Will be interesting to hear feedback on these things. Very cool that something cutting edge like this has come out. "Could" change a lot of things for the industry.
  5. I wonder if the hood will concentrate groups of the LED's somehow so that you can still get point source shimmer lines like with MH's.
  6. Like an orange? No, I most certainly did not.
  7. I went to the little store by my house the other day looking for some brew and in addition to the six pack, half-rack and case they had...wait for it...the Family Pack...a box of 20 beers. Priceless. It was Bud Light.
  8. I'll be having a couple. Six packs.
  9. I have one on my little 30g. Seems like a good skimmer to me. When I researched the purchase a few folks seemed to have microbubble and noise issues, there were a couple of others that I don't think ever got it right, overflowing and such. Again, this seemed to be limited to just a relatively few people. I don't really have microbubble problems (simple pipe fitting mod on the outlet) nor any of the other problems I read about. It's a little noisier than I thought it would be but that probably comes with the territory since its not surrounded by a stand. You really have to watch the grommet that guides the impeller to the pump body. It's easy to mount that little part improperly and in general the grommet seems to wear if you don't get it right. This really ups any noise you might experience. It's no problem getting new grommets though, Doug at Deltec is great to work with. My unit produces consistent, reliable nog. Nothing outrageous but this is on a little tank. Bottom line, I would do the purchase over. If I was getting a deal like you suggest it would be an even sweeter decision. If you do end up buying or have any more questions before the purchase let me know, I'd be happy to try and answer.
  10. I dumped my roids in last night around midnight. Just checked the tank and you know, I do have a bit more polyp extension than usual. Strange since all the roids would have been eaten or skimmed out by now. I'll try it again tonight.
  11. OK, I see now. I misunderstood what you were saying about your relatives. Looks like a good plan.
  12. [language filter], you are right that is not cheap. Geez, if I could butcher the steer I just ate...from the steak, I'd be rich. I'm curious about those "man-made reef boulders"....haven't seen them...seems like you have an appetite for "relatives" though.
  13. OK it's in, 1/4 teaspoon of roids. Living dangerous. BTW my light cycle is 4 pm to 3 am, one 250W DE Phoenix. In any event, apparently noboldy likes the roids...except the fish...they seemed very happy. I should qualify that statement by saying that I already have "insane ployp extension" w/o the roids. Whatever in the hell that means. If only a Phd could tell me if that was good or not...the polyp extension. Far as I know it could be 'cause they are pissed. Well anyway same as usual I guess. Maybe tomorrow I'll buy some Zeo, Prodibio or System Reef-resh...or perhaps I'll just do a water change and hit the sack.
  14. Good to know Craig. Although it goes against my principles of laziness I may try that on a couple of my frags. Curious if anyone is considering the Reef-resh or is using Prodibio or Zeo or even Vodka for that matter? I'm bored with success and would like to kill something.
