    First Rics

I only wish I was that smart... lol.
  2. 180, you could get an acrylic or glass aquarium (or any food grade water resevoir) and modify it to become a sump... It's not to difficult, depending on what you would like to do? I know someone who was setting up his large tank with a 55 gallon acrylic tank as a sump. He picked up the tank used. The price was even reasonable, if I remember correctly. If the tank or soon to be sump has a few scratches it really isn't a big deal. Do you have pictures of your limitted space that the sump is going into, so we can help? What are you planning on putting in your sump? skimmer, and etc... What ever sump you get/build I think it is a good idea for it to accomodate any and all water from the tank when the tank is turned off or the power goes out. Here is a sump volume calculator for you to play around with:http://reefcentral.com/calc/sump.php Have fun!

Nice pictures & and couple of nice corals there, lol.
  4. reefgeek, I am not sure why/where your above comment is coming from??? My previous post was attempting to clarify something in regards to Nyles quote, and my first post was just me conveying that I couldn't find any plastic tees on the site listed. Thanks, Neil
  5. Victor, The Seattle Aquarium has been selling water for years (5 cents per gallon *). If I am not mistaken a LFS up there use to use it in there tanks. Here is the link: http://saltaquarium.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=saltaquarium&zu=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.seattleaquarium.org%2F Then go to about us and then saltwater sales If anyone could provide a direct link that would be great? Neil

    Asterinas Eat Coral

Here is an article from garf.org about them: Go to: WWW.Garf.org , Then to "Aquarium Pests" , then to "SPS Eating Starfish" , there is also an "update" Neil Sorry, I was not able to make a direct link.
  8. Off Topic: jmudrup, what grade do you teach?
  9. For putting the Loc-Line together I would say the tool (Loc-Line pliers) has some value. For taking the lovely stuff apart I have normally used a little bit of muscle.

Very nice pictures! Oh by the way, it was nice to meet you. Neil
  11. #3 or #7, but if I was a kid again, I think I would have preferred #3!

  13. What are your thoughts on these food products? I picked some up Arcti-Pods & Roti-Feast at the BBQ, thanks to a raffle prize or two. At first I wasn't thrilled to have won his products, due to the fact I was hoping for some frags . I have mainly used the Arcti-Pods thus far: Pros... My fish loves it. I am not sure if my corals have eaten much, but they do perk up a bit. My fish usually beats them to it. It is quick and easy to use. It is stored in my fridge. My hands don't smell like fish food after using it (due to the squeeze bottle applicator). A small or a big squirt of the orange Arcti-Pods is normally gone in under a couple minutes. Cons... Price, $20.00 for my 6 oz bottle of Arcti-Pods & the Roti-Feast is also $20.00, but it seems like it will last for quite a while, especially since I rotate it in with the numerous other foods I currently use. What to you think about his Randy Reed's food products? Come on BBQ winners, speak up... Thanks http://www.reed-mariculture.com/

    Zoos!!!

I second that. Even a single polyp would be ok with me, lol.
  15. Nice. I like the palys in picture number 1 a lot. I pm'd you. Neil
  16. I was planning on winning the frag tanks, I will let you know how they look in my garage (filled with frags). Yes, I am going to the meeting. I have been looking forward to it. Neil
  17. Nyles, I will try to be at the next meeting. If I am not able I can always send some frags with Lowman aka Bob ( I am sure he wouldn't mind). Just PM me when you get a chance and we can work a trade out in advance. Just to let you know I have been making room on the bottom of my tank for some sort of brain coral (open?), and I always have room for any ricordeas I don't have yet. Nyles, by the time we get to the September meeting I should have quite a few of propagated ricordeas & yumas ready for trade, and hopefully my zoos will grow fast. Maybe I meet even put water in my frag tank, instead of cluttering up my display. Neil
  18. Bob, I would like some zoo frags? I looked at some of the pictures, what colors do you have? Neil
  19. Go to the original page PNWMAS.org and you will see the icon
  20. Could you post some pictures of your Acan Lords and the Blastos? Thanks in advance.
  21. I'll be there, and I would like to discuss our BBQ and any other topics.
