So I finally broke down and dosed Wife’s tank...success! All critters seem happy. Sea Apple has went through 3 tank upgrades and now this so IT is 💪🏿! I dosed 25 drops then after 40ish mins while waiting by tank sucked them up as I saw them. Added another 10 drops...followed by sucking them up. All together I took out 10 gallons of water. Replaced it all...followed by heavy carbon for 4 hours and then took out and added Chemi Pure! Tomorrow I will do my tank!2 points

I don't have that color, but I think you might find it at All Things Aquarium @ATA Wilsonville. Erin, do you still have a piece that looks like that? I have a number of stylo frags myself--purple, bright purple, green, bright green, and rainbow. I can post pictures if anyone is interested. As you all know, my frags are $10. I need to have another Open House $10 sale soon... Maybe next weekend.2 points

Wondering what you all do for fun outside of the aquarium world? I go skiing as much as I possibly can. Growing up I was actually a pretty good freeskier, was sponsored by monster energy, spy optics, and fuel outerwear for a few years. Had an unfortunate bmx accident on my 16th birthday that resulted in a traumatic brain injury. Most all my sponsors dropped me within 2 weeks of leaving the hospital, and by the time I could ski again I was terrified of another tbi and substantially slowed it down. In fact today was supposed to be the first time I was going to go skiing and ride park in over 2 years! Unfortunately got called into work, to seemingly handle a 15 minute rush this morning😤 anyways, I'm also a car guy! I love Audi's more than anything, but the fd rx7 will always have a special place in my heart. I used to own a single turbo car, made 522whp on wastegate pressure! Eventually I scared myself to the point I was convinced that car would kill me, and sold it to another enthusiast back in Utah! I currently own a nogaro b5 s4, built a silver one with my dad in high school and fell in love with the chassis. Ended up parting out that car to buy my nogaro car, and finish the rx7 build. Sometimes the cars I get to work on make my job feel more like a hobby. What do you all do for fun outside of your aquarium?1 point

After the countless hours and days thinking what our daughter would like for her bday...we asked her. She says something nature and green. I said oh I know what that means to an 8yr old. She is not a toy kid. She loves her pets and is spoiled! So so here’s the new additions to our Zoo. Yellow Black and A Blue Black. If anyone has information or tips please share.1 point

Both my black and white were hot! It just never occurred to me to check them, I’m just glad I didn’t have all my equipment plugged in. So far only my T5 ballast and return pump were fried. I think I unplugged it fast enough to save the apex thank goodness. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Welcome! Looks like things are doing well. Definitely lots of knowledgeable and helpful people on here who would be happy to answer questions and give advice. If you happen to be able to make a meeting that is a great way to get to know some of the regulars and chat about the hobby.1 point

Yikes! Always a good idea to through a volt meter on your wiring projects just in case. Never know when you might get a surprise! Glad the Apex wasn’t damaged.1 point

I’m really hoping to make it to this one! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

A 30% water change will lower your nitrates by 30% unless there are nitrates in your rodi water (chloramine). Or your test kit is bad. Easy way to know is mix couple mls of 50% tank water and 50% rodi. Then test nitrate to see if they come down by 50%. If it doesn’t then your test kit is bad1 point

Haha, not a chance. That anemone hosts a female orange and a male black and white ocellaris clown fish that have laid eggs every two weeks for the last 9 years and has survived several crashes that have killed off most other livestock. It has actually kept me from leaving the hobby several times.1 point

Very cool! I was the frog guy haha. Yes I fed almost exclusively melanogaster. I used repashy products. Fly media and calcium plus to dust the flies. Great for colors and conditioning to breed (although you don't want to breed mixed species, they will hybridize, which is frowned upon) Dendroboard is a great forum. It's like reefcentral. Let me know if you have any questions. I had both those species. Azureus (blue) and leucomelas (yellow)1 point

Well lesson learned. I plugged in my light to the new outlet I installed and BOOM!! The ballast went POP and blew smoke out!! I instantly pulled out the light power and cringed. Initial thought was too much power. So I got out my tester and it was putting out 220v! Oops. The junction box I used was for the wall heaters that need 220v. What are the odds...? Anyways now I need to install a new ballast for my T5s. Also crawled around in the creepy attic again and fixed my wiring issue. Thank goodness the apex was able to handle the 220v and is ok [emoji51] Also plan to purchase my replacement parts for the MP-10s, my other radion, return pump and skimmer this week Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk0 points
