I would imagine most of us would end up leaving a garage sale with the same amount of equipment/tanks... just new to us equipment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey, ya'll! Here's my new tank, it's been a couple years since my last tank (it was too big). So now I'm just doing a tiny 50gal tall and slender with a 40galsump. I have about 100lbs of rock +/-, some awesome aragonite, and using 1 pump to the 50, and with gravity fed return to the 40. It only has a couple little clowns, a rainbow rose bubble, and the big (not really) chomper to keep a lookout. And now the pics!

The line snail is very exciting, but this kid can’t wait for some fish. Thank you.

So I have roughly 1,200lbs of rock that needs to go. I used to have about 600gal of water in large ponds for coral propagation/fun, a couple years back, and this stuff has just been sitting in water ever since. I would love to trade it for some cool corals and reef friendly fish/inverts as I plan on getting some fine looking torts, zoas in the future. Thanks, in advance! -Michael BTW, It's good to be back amongst all of you!

Time for a reset on the Red Sea SPS tanks! The Bali green slimers had grown out of their space, and I had some mushrooms growing over everything. I can't wait to start over with new rock work. Now that's a bucket full of slimer! Thanks a bunch for your help with the breakdown, @badxgillen!

Budgets and I, and this hobby are like an elevator in a 1 story house. I just don't set one anymore. Also, I decided after this long 2 weeks, that I'm going to spend the birthday money on a 95gal cube, and look into building/programming an t5/led light. Cheers!

great pumps and a controller for a very reasonable price. i believe one of these pumps sells for around $180 new. these pumps will run forever IME.

all sold thank you Willapa and Ron. Enjoy your new children Now I have room to start again this time with some hammers please close

Giving us a budget would also help. Cuz some lights a crazy expensive and some aren’t so bad. Like Ocean revives are super nice and about $200 a pop. Let’s you control two channels even though it’s full spectrum. One would probably cover your tank. The AI 26 on the other hand is about $350 a pop and you might need two. But it’s controlled over WiFi and has 7 channels of control I think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I run a little of everything: EcoTech, AI, T5, Ocean revives, you name it. My favorites are T5 (growth) and AI. For example on my next build I made a DIY T5/AI Hydra 26HD light fixture. When comparing AI to EcoTech, you should remember that 1) they are owned by the same company, 2) AI is controlled over WiFi right out of the box. Radions need either a reef link or an apex to be controlled wireless(extra cost). Another huge thing for me is Red Sea provides AI products with their tanks and not radions. Most of us refer to Red Sea tanks as the gold standard. Must be a reason the us AI products.... Just my two cents. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In comparison to everything I've used to date the ecotech radions are by far the best fixtures. Easiest setup, theyll grow anything, and they give a great shimmer without too much discoball effect. For me, my xr30 has essentially been a set and forget fixture. I wipe them off with a microfiber while they're off once a week, but it's been running the exact same setting for 8 months now.

After several days of contemplating, I've decided to pull out the reactor and get it ready for operation. I need to pick up a few things prior to firing it up, though. What kind of media should I use for Ca and Alk? Anyone have extra they'd like to sell? My ph probe has been sitting for about a year, wet in a zip lock. Should I buy new? Anyone have an extra calibrated working ph probe they'd like to sell? Other than that, I should be ready to give a shot...if it becomes problematic, I will give 2 part dosing a try. Thank you, everyone, for all your input as they have all been very informative.

Well I am atleast optimistic about getting a Mandarin. This was my game plan ..... I have a nuvo 20 so I was going to make a tiny refuge out of 1 of the chamber put cheato and pods in it, as well as seeding pods in the main tank. Let these populate and get establish for a couple of months before I introduce a Mandarin to my tank. Hopefully this will give me time to train one to eat my sis. Thank you all so much for your input and experiences !!

The tank is 60 gallons odd ball really tall. The pod population stays fairly cut back with 2 mandarins, 5 seahoreses and shrimp eating as many pods as possible. The tank gets fed mysis twice daily. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

I agree, Rudy begin the Flooding again Please. It’s all about the Corals.
  38. 1 point
I totally get why it seems flooded, and I agree there is probably a way to fix it. [emoji4] but it’s super nice having access to sweet deals that outsiders don’t. Helps keep pricing down for locals. So in reality, Rudy is doing everyone a favor lol. And I would be interested to see any solutions that come up. If we find a solid way to do this that helps keep thing “clean” I would consider posting my own auction also [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don’t think it’s a flood.... I am happy to have it “flood” my screen lol
  40. 1 point
It was all under classifieds but if you're using the 'home' tab then it definitely is a flood. Rudy has the best coral though so maybe if you can't beat 'em...

I have it. Have not set it up yet though. A few things that I have noticed so far: 1) the only way to access the drain entry compartment is to disconnect all of your plumbing or get creative with a tube and vacuum. 2) there are no heater mounts. 3) the return area is a little small. 4) the level marks or on the partitions in the sump not on the front where they would be so much easier to see and read. #1 being my biggest concern the others can be overcome easily. My return pump is a Jabeo DCT-8000 for a size comparison.
