Help with Kenya tree and xenia

They are hard to kill but I have seen it done. I won’t mention any names.😀 If water quality is good, I probably wouldn’t worry too much. Besides there are plenty of people who can get you more. I know for me , the Kenya tree and Xenia wouldn’t do as well when the water got really cold in the winter (no heater on that particular tank) but that shouldn’t be an issue in the summer. If they were near each other , corals will release toxins to nearby corals. Honestly in a crowded tank that’s how I end up losing most of my corals.

Help with Kenya tree and xenia

Ive had Kenya tree coral look really bad for a few days. Nothing seems to bother it, hardiest coral I’ve ever owned. I wouldn’t worry about it. Dustin

Help with Kenya tree and xenia

My Kenya tree looks like it is losing it's skin and my xenia is sucked down tiny and sickly looking. I took my water in and had it tested they said it was good. Any ideas

Its ok controller is bulky for the 1k. But the 130 i got from you is doing awsome i had got the motor block warrenteed recently because the power cable sheilding had cracked and started leaking voltage! i was alerted by my salinty probe haha. I want to get another 130/230 with the new controller to be able to control both from one unit. Wish there was a cheaper option for the apex!

Welcome scissortail. Glad to hear about your plans and agree that it sounds like a good fit with the TT program. Sounds like kknight already has you lined up for the Boy's and Girls club tank which should make for a good start. Excited to see a participant in Hood River - one of my wife and my favorite day trips from PDX (was just up there last weekend). Hopefully see you at one of our club events soon... great way to meet some fellow reef keepers, get advice and hook up with potential donations for the tank. We typically have a very generous group on here.

Awesome! 40 gallons would be great. Our school is very hands on and experiential education works best for our kids, so maintaining the tank and posting on the forums would be a big component of our marine biology class.

We have a Tanks for Teachers program. Available is a 20 gallon and a 40 gallon maybe coming up, both with all the necessary equipment . If you could maintain the tank and post updates on the forum I think we could hook you up
