jason7504
instead of the firefish and jawfish, how about this.. a yellow clown goby, neon goby and hi fin goby..would they all get along?
Michael7979
Watch the clown goby as some have had problems with the eating polyps off of corals.
jason7504
was the clown goby eating the sps polyps? i heard they can nip at the sps polyps..how about just a neon goby and hi fin goby then? would they get along with each other and my corals? Michael7979
Yeah it was sps polyps. They should do fine. I have never had them together though.
albertareef
How about a Rainsford Goby? Cool little fish - looks like a Hectors but better color (in my opinion anyway). http://www.geocities.com/z28shawn/rainsford.jpg

albertareef
I am getting page cannot be displayed on your link Hmm... still works for me. If you google it there should be several examples that come up. Sorry that one isn't working for everyone. (scratch)

albertareef
that is a pretty goby..are they peaceful? and reef safe? Hey Jason - if you are asking about the Rainsford, I believe the answer is yes to both. I have had a couple over the years and both were very peaceful tankmates and didn't bother anything else in the tank that I ever saw. They often have them in the display tank at Soutas' with all there SPS so I don't think they are likely to cause any problems. A really nice fish in my opinion. I would be careful and try to make sure you get one that is eating at the LFS though.
jason7504
where do they sell the Rainsford Goby's at? i haven't seen them before
albertareef
where do they sell the Rainsford Goby's at? i haven't seen them before Jason - I have most often seen them at Soutas so you could send Mr Reef a PM and see if they have any. I am sure, however, that several of the LFS around would be happy to order one for you as well. Of course, you don't get to see how well they tank adapt in that case... jason7504
ive heard that Rainsford Goby's only eat like pods and other life on the rocks like mandrains(not sure of spelling)..are they hard to keep?
Michael7979
I had a Rainsford that sifted thru the sand. I also have heard/read that they will eat algae from off the LR. They are real shy but not hard to care for IMO.
albertareef
ive heard that Rainsford Goby's only eat like pods and other life on the rocks like mandrains(not sure of spelling)..are they hard to keep? I had a couple of them over the years that eat frozen food as well. I have also heard that they can be somewhat finicky eaters which is why I would recommend getting one that has been at an LFS for a while so you can see how well they have (or haven't) adapted to eating prepared food just in case... jason7504
im thinking of getting a 6-line wrasse but i also want to get a cleaner shrimp and have heard that 6-lines can pick on them..if i added the shrimp before the 6-line, would it still bother it?
Michael7979
Probably not. If the cleaner shrimp is big enough and has established an area the 6 line will be ok with him. But all wrasses have their own temperment so you can never be 100% sure.
