B Foxy
I am not sure if this is a new idea or just something I came up with.. I was having alot of trouble with microbubbles..so I placed my return pump into a filter bag..and voila...no more microbubbles... like I said..this might be a tired old idea..but it worked for me. R-3
Just make sure you change those filterbags often. I use them and they work great. Later Ryan
H20cooled
Adding baffles to your sump that are spaced 1" apart works great, you can also build a bubble tower that forces the bubble up and the water out the bottom. Sometimes just adding an elbow or a little more pipe can slow bubbles. I was worried about bubbles on my new setup because my pushing around 900gph through it and my skimmer is also dumping into it. But so far with testing the bubble traps are doing great. Rich
drock59
Lower flow through the sump area also helps along with baffles. The filter bad idea works great but you have to be religous about changing them or things can go bad in a hurry.
H20cooled
Yeah the slower flow definatly helps. Not a big fan of the filter bag either its just something else to trap detrius in your tank, but if you wash it often you will be ok.. CCR
with the filter bag, you are bypassing it's purpose, and adding another element to create nitrates. Keep an eye out and be warned, wash, replace, or what ever often!!!....
B Foxy
I'll keep an eye on it... Thanks fella's I think I have gotten everything dialed in so there should be no more need for said filter bag...
