From the looks of the eyes, you have an A. Percula (lover center) and an A. Ocellaris (upper right). Notice the Perc has an orange ring around its eye, and the ocellaris has a black ring.

I'm also guessing you meant Entamacea instead of Heteractis

Excellent, thanks! The difference in the clowns might explain why I'm getting all kinds of pre-spawning behavior but no actual spawns. Regarding the anemone, yes -- I Googled poorly ;)

Edit: Oh, and regarding the flow -- it isn't as high as it seems; both the Tunzes are on controllers, so are pulsing near a 50% duty cycle. That being said it was a bugger getting the streams positioned so that they wouldn't blow my substrate into dunes.

Very intersting about the eye ring color. I have never heard that before.

Cool way to tell the difference!

Is that a 100% of the time correct way to tell them apart?

I replaced my M58 ballasts with a 250W Galaxy from Sunlight Supply. WOW! That's is one fantastic ballast... quiet, cool and it drives the 12K Reeflux SE bulbs like a bat out of hell. Definitely the best combination I've found so far for both viewing and photographing. The pictures just take themselves under these babies.

Here are a few new pics taken under the combo (no flash, very slight post-processing):

Andy,

Are you using any actinic lighting with the 12K reeflux bulbs? I am using 20K 400watt Radiums right now on a standard ( non-hqi) ballast, and they are just too blue for me. I was thinking of going with the reeflux 12k or the hamilton 14k.

No, I dumped my actinics a week or so ago -- those pics are just the Reeflux 12K bulbs. They've got a lot more pop on the electronic ballast; on the M58s they were a bit wimpy, now they fluoresce the corals a lot more.

Actinic VHOs supplementing the halides -- I pulled them for a couple of reasons. 220W of VHO added a lot of heat to the tank, plus they really flattened out the look of the tank by softening the shadows and glimmer lines from the point-source metal halides.

do you or your corals miss that wavelength?? I really enjoy the extra viewing period before and after the halides come on and go off. I also noticed all my corals color and vividness improved quite a bit with the addition of actinic supplementation. I use t5's which put off next to no heat. Let me know how this works out for you
