Water Loss, Wait Time For Salt Mix

I would try and get it as close to tank params as possible, (temp, salinity, etc.)

But if you need to add the water ASAP because of pumps sucking air or something like that I would get the salinity to match the tanks as close as you can and then add it in slowly. Thus giving it a chance to not shock the system due to the temp.

Ideally I let my water mix up overnight. But I know you can't wait this long with an emergency.

Well if the tank is running and not drawing in any air thru the pumps wait until you are comfortable to addit. If it needs some just add enough to get by until then.

I would say the water would be OK to add after 3-4 hours of mixing/heating. Just check the params. before you add any.
