Pete
Hello all, I'm Pete from Troutdale and I am new to this forum. I also consider myself new to reefkeeping, I have had my 120 gal, inwall, reef tank for 2 years now. I just changed my membrane in my RO/DI unit (obviously way past due) and I know that somewhere I read that you are supposed to discard the first water produced. But I don't remember how much I'm supposed to discard. I fill two 5 gallon water containers for my top-off system. Can anybody tell me how many gallons I need to discard? I would appreciate it. I will post the details of my tank and hopefully some pics.
chewie
I'd get rid of the first 5 gal of good water and call it good.
CCR
That's about right. Check before and and after the membrane with a TDS meter to be sure it has settled in properly. Did you remember to replace the first one's to.
