Hello reefers!

After some time out of the hobby due to house remodel and a new baby, I finally decided to put some extra weight on my new floors. And what better way to start, but with an awesome deal from Jeff with a new Red Sea Reefer XL 425. Thanks Jeff!

As I very well remember this community is filled with amazing and helpful people, thing that can only make it easier and better for this hobby.
I am looking forward to share and be a part of this reefer community as already has been proven to be amazing.

And now some photos as I know we all like.

Welcome back Titus! I remember the name but can’t picture the face. Nice looking tank. I love the way you did your rockscape. Nice planning.

Jeff does have amazing deals on tanks which is why I have to stay away from is shop or I would end up with ten tanks!

That’s the best part of this club in my opinion. I learned so much meeting people seeing their tanks and have met a lot of great people. I don’t have a tank up right now but am of considering setting up a Nuvo that is in my garage.

Welcome back, looking forward to meeting you.

Quick question, what are the whiskers sticking out of the lights?   Are those Radion G5s, and are those antennae for  Mobius communication?

Thank you!
The little antennas are just the extra wire for the hydra 32s so they can be adjusted in height. I left it longer for now until I figure out how hight to keep them above the water.

Looks great!  I have the same tank but with the black cabinet.

What are you going to do in the sump area?  If you want any ideas, I have a very detailed build thread over at R2R:  https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/suncrestreefs-red-sea-reefer-xl-425-build.358990/

I did a lot of research before my final decision on the reefer 425. Your build thread helped me a lot. Thank you!

It’s a 25 lagoon. Not much of a build thread lol. Here’s the task I dumped in some rock and sand and I am done.

I really dig the aquascape. Makes me want to tear mine down and do it over

Thanks!
The nice aquascape is only temporary. Corals will eventually cover it all. At least that’s what I hope.

I’ve been taking it very slowly, but finally some updates. I don’t have many corals as I’m still working on getting a few fish.
I have a flame angel that’s in the sump right now because he is a bully. He pick on all the corals including the leather coral. I was trying my luck with this beautiful fish and it has to go.  Everything else is good so far.

Finally almost done organized all the cables and installed the Dos for the AWC and I love it. No more buckets to move around 😎

I used 55gallon barrels for the fresh and saltwater right underneath my little work bench in the garage  nothing fancy but it works. I used kayak hatches on top for easy access.

It’s been about a year since the tank is wet so I think it’s time for a quick update.
After dealing with dinoflagellates 3 times no other really big issues that I had to deal with in the first year.

I have 13 fish 🐟 and still dosing No3 and Po4.  So since I quarantine everything there are 7 more fish in quarantine getting ready to put in the display in about 3 weeks. Maybe the dosing won’t be necessary once that’s done. 😉

And what better way to describe the update but with photos. I know we all like photos!
