Andy, a protractor? Really? Damian, how did you get three frags? Don't think I'm not on to you. David, what exactly are you measuring, man!? That is like the worst frag measurement of all time. John, as expected, your write up is an A+. Even if you don't win, you will have the best pics, hands down. Trash-Talk Month #1...check! Smacking everyone around I see Id do water changes on my tank but I don’t have time- It always seems I’m changing water in someone else’s tank for some reason😣 Its ground hogs day 5 days out of the week
jtarmitage
Wow, the sass is flowing strong already I see...LOL I guess I could expand upon my system a bit... Let's just say it's in flux atm. Tank - 110g 48x30x18 Sump - just combined my frag system(downstairs) with my main display (upstairs) into a 40x50 tank. A bit of live sand in bins, filter socks, and rock I'm making live for the 280g that will come online in a few months Skimmer - Reef Octopus Regal 250 Int that's a handful of years old UV - 40w Pentair Smart UV Algae Scrubber - Clearwater CW100 - just put online Lights - 2x AI Hydra 52 HD - blue heavy Flow - 2x Nero 5 - Waveline DC 6000 on a Oceans Motions Closed loop Return - Sequence Yellowtail Parameters - Pretty common 8.5dkh, etc Salt - Reef Crystals Dosing - BRS 2 part and occasional mag Occasional use of carbon and GFO, but those haven't been added since the changeover. Water changes - 10% every 2 weeks or so, depending on how many Honey-Do list projects I have running at the time The tank is slightly miffed as I just removed the old sump, which had the sand bed, extra rock, and refugium, but it's recovering swiftly. Once I cut a hole in the wall and add the 280g, it's bound to give me grief again briefly, as both tanks and the frag tanks will be on a single system. The frag is mounted high in the center of the tank, so PAR will be a tad on the high end...lol Edited April 30, 2020 by jtarmitage
CoralReefTankers
Dang this is getting spicy and it hasn't even been a week. Well here is my entry. About 5/8" on the tall piece. Tank is a Reefer 250 Lighting is 2 Red Sea LED90s Current eFlux DC return pump Flow is Icecap gyre and a cheap Jebao Curve 5 skimmer I do about 15% weekly water changes and am dosing Tropic Marin Carbocalcium by hand currently waiting on my dosing container to get here. This frag and my Oregon Tort are my first SPS outside of montipora. So hopefully it grows well🤞

Lexinverts
May 30 growout update. There is some growth, but its color has faded a little bit. I think I need to increase the nutrients in this tank. Lots of sps growth in the tank that is consuming nutrients.
reefnjunkie
Still alive 😎 How about yours Gil&Fin that brown bomber still kicking?? ☠️🤪😳 quick pic before the next update- nothing vertical but thats expected, it is encrusting nicely tho I just wanted to be first in posting an unofficial post sorry for the cell pic Edited May 31, 2020 by reefnjunkie
ocboat
Haven’t killed it yet. I turned up the whites so it looks a little brown but better looking under bluer light. A couple of new nubs growing out of where a branch was cut from it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gil&Fin
Well my color is good and it is hairy as heck but no encrusting. Or growth, really. I'm not worried, though I'd feel better if there was growth down to the plug. I do feel a little sorry for all the wittle bitty frags in Brad's tank. They're so cute, though! Taylorhardy1
Here's my update. So far so good! Color is great, super pink, super fuzzy! So far its encrusted a tad, maybe 1/16" upward growth from the largest branch, if any at all. Could be measurement error! Did a few upgrades since the first check in. I upgraded lighting to a 36" 8 bulb ati powermodule hybrid. I cranked it up and get 370 par where the frags currently sitting. Also got a aquamaxx carx online. Alks been fluctuating a bit between 8.7-9dkh but target is 9! Also pardon the dinos. Despite those things I'm getting good color and growth from most all of my sps! shaywood
Maybe a tiny bit of Growth. Color a bit faded. Raised slightly in the tank. Never seemed to get the polyp extension some do. Edited June 1, 2020 by shaywood
2KS2K
Have slight encrusting on back side. I’ve noticed most of the growth up! My color and polyp extension has been great! Nothing has changed except for starting to bubble scrub the tank nightly for 4 hours. Sorry for the horrible pic
jtarmitage
Mine didnt appreciate its placement apparently and I was too busy with work and building the new system, so I lost it.
albertareef
I'm out (of course) had another crash days after I brought it home and lost it and all the other sticks I had collected over the previous month so at least it had company 😞
Tandor69
Mine has lost a little color but still have good polyp extension and might be starting to encrust the glue. Need to up my nutrients. Also do to the fact I have placed it further back from the glass, it’s hard to get a good pic. Definitely need a better camera than my phone. SuncrestReef
I barely see any growth, maybe 1/32" at most, but it is starting to encrust a tiny bit. But man is this thing hairy!
