shaywood
Finally decided to run a network cable to my controller, after using Wi-Fi for years. Because I had to run the cable through the wall I had to put a new connector on one end. After completing the install I plugged the network cable into the port on the controller and the power immediately died to the controller. thinking I messed up when putting a new end on the cable I checked and verified the cable is working correctly. I then tried again by reconnecting the network cable to the controller and the power to the controller immediately went out again. Anyone want to guess what I was doing wrong? SuncrestReef
Wow, I have never heard of this happening, and no idea what could cause it. Have you examined the network port on the Apex to see if there's any corrosion or debris inside the socket?
xmas_one
Check it with another (store bought) cable.
shaywood
I had no idea that a network cable would fit into a variable speed port! So, I was plugging the network cable into the wrong port!
