Manny Tavan
It’s foot is deep inside a hole in the rockwork. Any idea how to remove it? Heard pointing a powerhead at it causes it to move to a different spot but I don’t want it to start moving around killing everything in its path. Manny Tavan
I can’t reach the base of the foot
SuncrestReef
If you can schedule it when you're home for the day, then aiming a powerhead at it may be a good choice. Just keep checking on it every hour and eventually it should have moved the foot out into an accessible area before it makes it to your corals, then you can coax it off the rock with your fingertip. Once they start to move, their grip on the rock is significantly reduced, making it possible to pry them off in under a minute. If they have been stationary for weeks, it can take nearly an hour to get them to let go.
SuncrestReef
As a last resort, I've heard that removing the rock from the water and suspending it upside down so the anemone is dangling into the surface of the water while its foot is out of the water will cause it to release fairly quickly. Of course, this may be difficult if the rock is part of a complex aquascape.
pdxmonkeyboy
Chopstick to get to his foot. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Manny Tavan
Didn’t think of the chopstick. Might try that. It’s been in that spot for 8 months
The ReefBox
A credit card is good it start peeling its foot without damaging it once it has started to move
Snappy
Cover it’s light source with another rock. Eventually it will move. I’d posted an anemone removal thread a couple years back with similar issue where it was in a deep cave.
Manny Tavan
Well I was preparing to try anything to get it out and then noticed my clowns were all cuddled up in there. Looked closer and sure enough they laid eggs. I’ll leave them alone for now. Not going to evict them just yet lol
Manny Tavan
Been trying to remove it since yesterday. Not happening. Took the rock out of the tank and I could get the foot to budge. Left one powerhead aimed at it overnight and it didn’t move. Time for a second powerhead

pdxmonkeyboy
If you can post one picture of your tank without the blue lights on, the anenome will move. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Bicyclebill
Oh Brian, I do so enjoy your sense of humor! But I digress. You're not going to get an anemone to move unless you aggravate the piss out of it, and not only will it move but it will likely split. That's what I recommend. Poke it all day long while you're working from home this week/month/quarter/lifespan and it will not only break loose, but you'll have another one to sell too! pdxmonkeyboy
I was able to move one anchored in a hole by picking at it with a chopstick for days on end. It is fascinating to me though.. how does an anenome decide to move..if it doesnt have a brain? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
