Willapa
I’ve had a Hanna 713 LR phosphate checker for a while now and sometimes get a reading over zero, but more often than not, it’s zero. I’m planning on dosing phosphate, but wondered if I should buy a ULR 736 Hanna before I do? I didn’t realize the LR accuracy was only .04 ppm and that is what I’m trying to get phosphate up to. Kind of wondering why I even bought this one originally! Are most folks using the ULR? https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/phosphate-low-range-colorimeter-hi713-hanna-checker-hc-fresh-marine-water.html https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/phosphorus-ultra-low-range-colorimeter-hi736-hanna-checker-hc-marine-water.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SuncrestReef
I use the Hanna ULR HI-736 and it's worked great for me. My typical readings range from 3 - 20, which calculates to 0.01 ppm to 0.06 ppm.

SuncrestReef
Just now, Willapa said: Can you tell me why I even bought the LR! I bought that one too when I first started up my tank. I used dry Pukani rock which is known to leach phosphates, so I used the 713 LR to measure PO4 as the rock was curing. Using GFO I was able to get PO4 down low enough that I could start measuring it with the ULR. Not sure what your excuse was. 🤣
