Kingtriton92
If anyone wants three healthy lemon chromis's and has a brilliant way to get them out of my tank (they are immune to nets and traps) then they are all yours. They aren't bothering anything, I just want to go with much smaller fish.
Oregonic
Not interested in the fish but may have a tip to catch them. In the middle of the night, hours after lights out take the brightest flashlight you have and you can basically stun them by directly shining a flashlight on them and net them.
Kingtriton92
I'll give that a try.
badguitarist
Another good way to catch difficult fish is to drain the tank and fill it back up. Super easy in small tanks but I've even done this in 200+ gallon tanks. Just have a big reservoir to hold the water and pump the water out and then pump it back in.
Kingtriton92
I tried the flashlight trick last night and while it froze them like fish in headlights, they were to entrenched in the rock work to bring my net into play. Somewhere I have a micro fishing rig that I used to use to catch mosquito fish for a pond... might have to dig it out and go reef fishing.
Deuce00
I had trouble catching chromis on my tank for awhile also. They are real smart when it comes to nets and new objects. I ended up buying a fish trap with a string release trap door and waited it out for about 3-4 days. Chromis finally got comfortable enough to go near and inside trap and was able to rehome a few. Alterego
Start feeding the fish by putting food in your net. When they swim into it to get the food, snag them up!
