You were so on point with that find. 

Up here in Washington, over the years I have seen a few of the Sphingidaes. Brought them to show-and-tell as a kid.

Just to keep the Silence of the Lambs theme going, I spotted this one on my window today.  My macro lens isn't just for corals you know!

Not as colorful as the Deceptive Sallow Moth above, but pretty hairy:

That’s one of the things I like about many moth photos...it’s easy to gauge the relative size of the moth when they’re on window screens since most screens have a standard mesh size.  My moth above spanned about 10 squares, but yours covered at least 50 squares.  That’s a chunky moth!
