Well folks, the club has been looking into some upcoming meetings and do we have some great news for You!

Coming up in the roster for the month of April is another one of our amazing sponsors,  Salem Oregon's The Premium Aquarium!!!

When - Sunday April 28th 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Where - 1875 25th St SE, Salem, OR 97302

What - A friendly gathering for us salt water reefer including food, raffles, and great deals on some nice TPA livestock.

Now we hope your ready to Party, because Garret always throws a fantastic shindig at his fine establishment. We are also finalizing a guest speaker to add to the merriments, but I am going to keep that as a bit of a mystery for now. I also hear that the PNWMAS club and Garret at The Premium Aquarium are going to be bringing you a stellar line up of raffle prizes to peak your interests.

And don't forget the ever changing smorgasbord of beautiful corals and fish the shop has to offer. I know I say this much too often but, this is going to be a good one for sure!

So, as usual, stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming event.

I will have to miss out on this meeting, but for good reason.  I'll be in Paris with my wife for our anniversary, but we'll be back in time for the Cinco de Mayo party at CNC.  I hope everyone has fun and I'm looking forward to Bert's photo recap.

Too bad you will miss it but I don't think you will garner too much sympathy given you will be in Paris with your wife - sounds like a fun trip!

I as well will not be able to attend this meeting it's my wife's Birthday this weekend and we will be out of town.  I am sad to miss another meeting and I will be missing the shindig at CNC as halibut season opens and the ocean is calling.

Well that is a bummer. What size tank you plan to put those halibut in anyway?

A tasty little teaser of some of the raffle items being presented at this months meeting. The PNWMAS and TPA are bringing in yet another fine batch of winnings for the club.

Need a little bit more flow in the aquarium, have some dead spots you need to get moving? I know we all do....

We will have one of the ever popular MP10 Quiet Drive circulation pumps in the mix of raffle prizes. A versatile and innovative pump that you can ramp up or down, change flow patterns, and even synch multiple units together. These guys produce a ton of movement from a small package.

We will also have certificates to some of our Amazing sponsors as prizes! Pacific Island Aquatics, which is now located in Albany Oregon, has some of the nicest fish around. Snagging one of these will get you a step closer to acquiring that dream fish of yours.

The digital salinity and temperature pen style tester, by Hanna instruments, is another cool reef gadget that some one will walk away with this coming April meet. I love how technology juts keeps getting smaller and more leisurely. I will be throwing a few tickets in on this one myself.

And it has been confirmed that here will be more raffle prizes coming your way soon, just keep your eyes peeled for updates as they roll in.

More Exciting News!!!

The owner of Aquabiomics will be attending the meet at The Premium Aquarium to introduce us to his new innovative business of gathering data from reef bacteria populations and biology. Getting to talk to Eli will be a treat for those of you who find this interesting and have a question or two. With a background running studies in coral labs at the Oregon State University biology department, this is one of his specialties.

This is just a snipit from their home page that I thought was worth sharing here. A bit of a description of the upcoming services that will be provided to the retailers and hobbyists.

So make sure to have that calendar marked and the day off to be able to attend the April 28th meeting in Salem. I will probably come early and stay late for this one.

Another awesome update on the April meeting!!!

In addition to the previously mentioned raffle items we have another list of killer prizes!

PrimeHDBlack910__37071.1524167179.650.65022b.jpg

An Aqua Illuminations Prime HD LED module! These come with an outstanding amount of customization features, good color rendition, and above all, proven track record of coral growth. Got a nano that needs upgraded or just want to put some OOmph into your existing lighting, this will do the trick for sure.

Eheimfeeder__19043.1445965959.650.65022b.jpg

Now whats this? An Ehiem Automatic Fish Feeder? YES! I could use another one of these for sure, as do most of you, if you use any type of dry food that is. From previous recommendations of a number of forum members, some friends, and now personal experience, I can now say that I can vouch for these Auto Feeders to people for their busy schedule needs. Multiple rotations, timings, and a large holding drum make this a very versatile and reliable feeder.

Coral magazine stack 1.jpg

Not interested in a light, pump, certificates, or a salinity probe!? Then what about a year long subscription to one of our spoonsors here by the name of CORAL Magazine!? I love this publication, and if I could get it for free, I would love it even more. Full of great articles, updated events in the reef world, and specialized topics such as new finds in the ocean or changes in the trades politics. Simply put, a Great read!

Tropic Marin Logo.jpg And for those of you who are not in need of any new equipment, knowledge, or corals we have a case of the reputable Tropic Marin Reef Salt in the raffle line up as well.

So now you know, there will be something for everybody at the upcoming PNWMAS meeting in Salem....

Be there, or be Square!

Bumping this to the top!

I am really looking forward to this meeting at The Premium Aquarium in Salem, this Sunday from 1-3 p.m.

@EMeyer from Aquabiomics will be there to talk about the importance of having the right kind of bacteria in our reef tanks.

@ThePremiumAquarium is always a fantastic host. Garret's beautiful shop is always loaded with corals, fish, and all sorts of hard-to-find invertebrates. You want to add some new workers to your tank's cleanup crew? Garret's the guy to talk to! I can't wait to see how his 600 gallon display tank is looking these days, since I haven't been there in a while. It never disappoints!

The club will have a bunch of fantastic raffle prizes this Sunday. See above for a partial list. I just got some new gift certificates that I will bring. This meet will be well worth your drive.

I hope to see you all there!

Andy

Yes indeedy doo, this will certainly be a good meeting for sure. And I just have confirmation from our Vendors Relations officer that we will also be having a  gift certificate form our long time sponsor Golden Basket in Tigard in the raffles.

I have a few treasures from the Golden Basket, but I wouldn't mind grabbing a couple more.

Not to change the subject, but I can't find Golden basket on Ebay anymore.  Have they moved?
