SuncrestReef
Hard to tell from the photo, but it might be hydroids.

SuncrestReef
Here are some macro photos of hydroids. Is this what you're seeing in your tank?

dhampton114
The hydroids is possible, they are too small to make out that clearly, but they do appear to be a stalk, with a head and then tentacles as near as I can tell. Are these a nuisance in a fowlr tank, and if so, any ideas on how to get rid of them? From what I have read about them, they seem to be a terror on corals, and highly difficult to remove. SuncrestReef
The hydroids in my tank went away on their own after a couple of months. I'm not sure why. It was during a time my tank was going through different phases with green hair algae, wire algae, and bubble algae. I could see my cleanup crew working on the various algaes, but they never touched the hydroids. I now have several long digitate hydroids that only come out at night. They are a pain, but I've found increased flow gets rid of them
