New Member Map feature

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

After testing out the map feature in the members arena for a while now, the club decided to make this more broadly available to the community.  Hopefully some of you will find it useful as it includes specific location data for local vendors as well as general location info for members (now supporting or not).  Feel free to add yourself in at whatever level of detail you are comfortable with.  Ultimately, this may help with the ever present "where are you located" query on classifieds posts - probably wishful thinking there 😀

I have a stupid question.  I don't see the tab where I can input my info. Can you point me in the right direction?

For me, there is a MyLocation drop down just above the map on the right that allows me to update or go to my location - I think this was where one could choose to add their initial info but it's been a while.  Perhaps one of our admins can verify @TheClark

1. On the Member Map screen, click the green "Add Location" button:

2. Enter your location.  You can be as precise or as vague as you like.  For example, you can just enter Portland, OR, or you can enter your full street address.  Some people may choose not to list their actual address for privacy reasons, and that's perfectly fine.

NOTE:  We've found that you need to spell out Northwest, Southwest, Northeast, Southeast for street names.  It will not recognize "NE Sandy", for example.

3. Once you have enough of a location entered, it will show you a list of matching locations.  Click the one that most closely matches, then click Save:Screen Shot 2019-08-14 at 3.12.33 PM.png
