pdxmonkeyboy
hey gang! well it is december now. i dont know if it necessary to post a measured picture as the frags are likely just settling in, and it is the holidaze so people are busy. Couple of interesting trends: Almost everyone is using only LEDs. One has LED and t5 I am the only one rockin halides..(and t5 and LEd). Almost everyone rated their stability a 7-8. which i thought some would say higher but it is what it is, makes me wonder just how "stable" we can achieve. the average tank size is just over 100g. We have 2 or 3 people under 40 gallon. Jeremy is the sole calcium reactor in the group. most are 2 part on doser. a hand doser, and one using kalk. For an update, add anything you want in terms of info. Also, please add how often you check alk and via what test. pdxmonkeyboy
So not much to report for me. I moved my frag from my qt and glued it in place. It is pretty faded from the move and is getting around 350 par. I test my alk daily with a hannah checker. I have added a lot of small colonies and frags in the last 3 months and they are really starting to take off. I have been increasing my cal and alk dosing about 10ml a week.Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Jfruity24
I ended up switching from the Chinese black box to the hydra 26hd after about a week of it in the tank, just thought I would add. But it’s cool to see it starting to cover some of the plug and glue. This pic is from Nov 19th.
SuncrestReef
My frag is showing good color and polyp extension every day. It seems happy in its position at the top of my rocks, about 5" below the water surface: It has only grown about 1mm in height, but it's starting to encrust over the glue: I also test my alk daily with a Hanna checker, and try to keep it at 8.6 dKH Edited December 4, 2018 by SuncrestReef

pdxmonkeyboy
come on folks.. lets have those updates i dont know if we should have an "official" cut off date. but it does make me curious.. are we the only three with living frags? lol Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
CrabbyCrabs
I didn't think we had to post each month? I've got nothing to show, maybe 1/8" growth of some new branches and some encrusting of plug. Nothing probably noticeable in a pic. I check alk a couple times a week with either Hanna or red sea kit, both read about the same within .2 dkh for me.
Gumby
I will reply next month not really any change too early.
Jeremevans
Mine is barely starting to encrust. I'll post next month too.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
pdxmonkeyboy
Hey gang. Hope your frags are doing well. Mine has been growing quite nicely. That or the tips are just bleaching. lol Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Glad to hear the frags are doing well for people - that was a nice looking colony.
Jeremevans
Mine is growing and encrusting nicely. When I was cleaning the tank I made a frag though. So I'll probably not be seeing the most measured growth...Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sroberts
My frag is still growing and looking more healthy each day. Are we supposed to be posting pictures?? I have no idea if mine is actually growing bigger yet but it does look good.

Jeremevans
Yes, we are posting pictures each month. There is a different thread for each month. Mine is really coloring up and growing fast lately, btw.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sroberts
Here we go with some photos. I wish the color was more accurate.
sroberts
The photos look worse once posted than they do on my phone. Hope you can see enough. I have them about 28" from the lighting (Kessil). I dose two part via my Apex system. Really I try to no disturb it as much as possible and only moved it once from a much lower location in my tank to its current location.
