CNC Sps growout.. first month thread

well, it is officially underway!! This thread will be used to enter in your baseline conditions and initial measurements.

 

Post a picture with a ruler immediately behind your frag. you can post a couple shots if your frag is wide or lopsided. you may want to also take a picture measuring the width.

 

So people have an idea of your system, please include the following:

 

1. total system volume

2. what kind of lighting

3. how you keep alk and cal stable

4. how old your tank is

5. rate your tank stability on a 1-10 scale.

OK, I’ll start:

My ruler is clear, so it’s easier to read if I place it in front of the coral. I'm measuring height from the top of the frag plug.  I’m also measuring in cm to make the math easier.

These photos were shot on my iPhone with clip-on orange filter, so color isn’t exact. Here’s a shot without the filter:

 

Details:

1. Tank: Reefer XL 425, 112 gallon system volume
2. Lighting: Radion XR30 Pro, AB+ program 8 hours, 400 PAR
3. Alk & Cal: BRS 2-part via DOS, 8.3 dKH, 420ppm
4. Tank age: 6 months
5. Tank stability: 7 for the past few months

Other notes:  Temp = 78 degrees, Red Sea Coral Pro salt at 1.026, Nitrate = 2ppm, Phosphate = 0.06ppm, pH = 7.9 - 8.13

Mine was on the smaller side from what I saw still in the tank at CNC last Saturday.

here i am. looks like 4cm tallest branch and 4cm spread.

 

total volume: about 400g

lights: radium 3 radium MH, 4 t5 coral+, 2 reefbrite xho blue strips.

alk/cal:dosing pump and BRS 2 part.

tank age: 10 months

stability: usually an 8, lately a 7 (coming back from fallow).

 

coral currently in QT with t5 blues.

I'll try to get pics tomorrow. I've been busy with work and house and I'm a mechanic so I'm always covered in grease so I try to stay out of the tanks. We also had a cat turn off power to one tank last night and it was 64 degrees this morning. No I don't heat the house till extra layers of clothes don't help. That's why I run 100 watt heater in 20 gallon tanks. Everything seems ok but only time will tell.

3. Weekly water changes of 5-6 gallons plus manual dosing off alk twice daily and calcium when I remember/have time.

4. Tank is a little over a year old, maybe 13-14 months. With one break down and move about 7 months ago or so.
