pdxmonkeyboy
yes but if you took it apart and reglued with commercial silicone i think it would be pretty bomber. if i wasnt building a shop right now i would buy it. Emerald525
@Gil&Fin another DD that blew its seal. Yesterday in talking with Mark Callahan (Mr. Saltwater Tank) , he has had 12 clients in the last 18 months that have blown the seal. Pdxmonkeyboy is right though if you reglued it properly it would hold and that’s a smoking deal. 1
CrabbyCrabs
So are these tank not reliable? Was thinking of getting a 150dd but now I think not.

I have both an never an issue but the horror stories on the 300 are out there, its a big tank an I could see if it's not level, that's a lot of water on the front/back. I've seen tons of people get tanks from Redsea damaged but ppl still buy em 😉
CrabbyCrabs
I was thinking on tanks that big having thick glass gussets cut for the 4 corners and silicone them in, would double as a screen top holder instead of those stupid plastic holders. Would add quite a bit of strength to the top corners.

The 150’s are fine the 300’s just have uneven pressure and the front seals go fast

pdxmonkeyboy
the thing i dont like about the marineland tanks is the corner overflow things. i measured my space where i would put it today and the tank is 1.25" too long. LadAShark
Resealing it properly would make for an awesome tank. But then again, resealing it properly is easier said than done. And the risk is huge. Tempted as I may be, the risk of it leaking or even blowing is too large.
