Knuckledragger
I see used RO/DI units for sale periodically. Should I stay away from them or could this be a good way to save some money? Is there anything I should watch out for or check if purchasing a used setup?
Manny Tavan
you can replace the cartridges if they are bad. Easy to check TDS to see if the catridges are bad Edited January 31, 2018 by Manny Tavan
Knuckledragger
Thank you for the quick reply! Do I need to worry about seals wearing out or other parts that may be replaced?
rdavis
I've never had a problem with a gasket going bad. Most of the units have universal sized filters so the parts are interchangeable. I would certainly change all of the filters, resin, and RO membrane on any used filter that hasn't been used in a while. The resin and membranes can go bad if you don't use them and they dry out.
