Swampy

Full tank shot

Recommended Posts

Haven't posted a pic in a while.  Now that I have gotten back from my business trip.  Thought I would post a full picture tank and messed sump area.   The new little K2-50 fits very nicely in a Red Sea 170 sump.  This leaves plenty of room for some chaeto or other things in the sump.  Just need a bit more movement for the chaeto I think.

Your Chaeto macro algea will grow faster if you put your light closer to it, especially if it's a fluorescent light. Light intensity decreases by the inverse square law, meaning if the light is closer it gets much much more powerful. Should help fix your micro algea problem. The Chaeto will use up the nutrients the algea in your DT is using to grow. And you can sell your fast growing chaeto back to your LFS.

I found a way to drop the light finally.  It's ugly and maybe a bit risky but zip ties make good hanging material.

Just make sure the water never touches or submerges the light. Grows like a weed.
