Gunna experiment here with something fun and a bit new. I was scrounging around and found some acrylic sheets and some plumbing fittings and decided to make a 1 gallon mini cube DT. It will have water pumped from the sump of my main tank into this one then back though the bulkhead and will be mounted on the wall next to the main DT. Now the question is, should I make this into a small single red mangrove refuge (which would increase nutrient export and increase copopods which equals more food for the ruby red dragonet), or make this into a really cool little zoa/paly mini tank... I'm split between the two.

Hi everybody and thanks for checking out my thread! Pictures will get added to the end of this OP as they are added in the thread. That will hopefully make it easy for future readers to just see the pictures in chronological order.
First step, tear down to the subfloor and put hardy board down and then tile it. For those wondering about the weight and joist questions in a previous thread, the tank will mostly evenly straddle two engineered joists so no worries. Big thanks again to @spectra for helping to solve that issue.
Return - Jabaeo Sine Wave DC-10000
Skimmer - Reef Octopus Classic 200 Internal 8"
Flow - Unsure, will start with what I have on hand but probably a Gyre XF-270 and whatever else if that's not enough. I am trying to avoid putting any pumps on the far wall. We'll see if that's realistic.
Water Mixing/Changing - These will be hard plumbed up through the floor of the office and be a permanent fixture in the stand. Waste line goes back through the floor, across the top of the garage, through the wall and into the storm drain. What this means is that hopefully I can turn on a small pump upstairs for a few seconds to start the drain siphon, empty the sump and then turn on the pump downstairs to refill it with new saltwater. How this is going to work is largely dependent on how the sump is configured etc. The main gist is that water changes are going to be soooooo much easier.
edit 28Dec17: RO/DI is permanently installed and is sourcing from upstairs laundry room to downstairs garage mixing station.
edit 4Jan18: Floor is done. Rockwork is more or less how I want it. Plumbing is complete. Tank is being picked up today!
25jan18: new light. Aqua Helios R120

Anyone looking for a 40 gallon breeder set up? I have a drilled 40B with black line stand, ASM mini -G protein slimmer, a utility pump, and a couple sunsun power heads. All you would need equipment wise is a light, sump (I used a 20 gal tank), plumbing (the bulkheads look good still) and heater.
About the tank: set it up about early (around March) 2016 but due to fighting my ex for custody of my son I was distracted and didn’t take care of it so I had a tank crash and then by October 2016 I took it down and it has sat in my garage since. Back is painted light blue but I’m sure you can get that off. It was set up for a frag tank.
Asking 200 obo.
Turnkey system. Good condition. Just add water... and some rock and substrate...
Complete with Aquatic Life skimmer, Eheim return pump, Tunze powerhead for flow, cooling fan, 165 watt LED light, and heater.
Easily $500 plus new, but it’s no longer new. Everything works, name brand stuff, less than 40% of new. $190 takes it all.
Available afternoons this weekend. Call or text questions to 503-381-4026. Mark@mtkmeyer.com
Thanks for looking.
