HyphyMike Posted November 12, 2016 Share Posted November 12, 2016 So I'm setting up a 20l frag tank. I will keep it bare bottom with eggcrates on acrylic "stilts". I will flush below the egg crate with a powerhead. It will be mainly lps and softies, with a few sps in it. I haven't drilled the tank yet, but I will soon. My return pump pushes about 400 GPH into 1/2" PVC Tube. I was going to keep this return setup for the time being. I'm going with a herbie style overflow for now, with plans to build a coast to coast overflow with the beananimal setup. So for now with the herbie setup what diameter size pipe should i use for the overflow, since I'm going to be tuning it back with the gate valve, I would want to have it bigger than 1/2" right?
