Greetings all!

Here is the new version of my tank thread that I created for PNWMAS.Hope you enjoy and have a wonderful day!-Keli

The main display is a 20 gallon TRUVIEW acrylic. This has been plumbed with two additional 20 gallon aquariums. The estimated actual water volume for the entire system is 50 gallons.

QUICK PARTS LIST:

1 Large return pump

1 small pump ,1 Maxi-Jet 1200

1 ODYSSEA skimmer

2 Black box LED units

1 Maxspect Lighting fixture

1 TUNZE ATO.

APEX NOT INCLUDED!

A black box LED unit is used for lighting. This tank could have been made specifically just for these types of lights.I get really good coverage throughout the coral scape. The Maxi -Jet 1200 is located in the far right corner.

The sump uses a Ocean Revive LED unit.It houses the return, skimmer and a algae scrubber of sorts.I harvest at least 3 different types of algae including hair, chaetomorpha and purple ochtodes.

On the secondary display I recently added a Maxspect lighting fixture.A small pump is running during the day for circulation.Notice the lovely freshwater background.

You have developed quite the collection of healthy coral specimens I see, I imagine you have to do some constant pruning or gardening to keep the fights to a minimum? Well your tanks are looking great whatever your tactics may be, and your dedication is admirable, your aquariums have really come together nicely.

Wait I think I saw some bare sand! Quick that means you need more frags.

How embarrassing! Where did you see the sand ? I forgot to mention that I use a large (maybe size 20?) grit in my display. The other two tanks have a pea sized crushed coral. It creates more bio diversity,I believe.

That is a whole lot of healthy coral, thanks for sharing!

Thank you! It is my pleasure.

Very nice write up! Time for an intervention!

Thanks! I'm just the enabler,no intervention required.

Those look so much bigger than 20 gal. Good job.

Thank you! I ultimately like to push the limits with my nanos.I want to inspire others to do the same.

Thank you, kindly. I do regular pruning on the more vigorous SPS.My clowns do some trimming as well which I will discuss a bit later.Between the corals I use small rocks and zoas as spacers.I have found that Palys in particular can take the occasional sting. Most importantly I watch things constantly as they grow.If two varieties look too incapatble I will move them right away.

I was eyeing those chalices Andrew mentioned myself! Super healthy looking. I love all the diversity in your tanks--acros, lobos, zoas...everybody's welcome! Can't wait to hear about the clownfish...

Looks like quite the collection. I like the large chalice colonies in the the second to last pic!

Thank you! Those are OG Alien Eye chalices I grew from frags.

Thank you, kindly.I think it is the way nature intended.Everyone has a place in my heart.Even those pesky purple stars polyps I had forsaken.I got to hand it to them for always coming back.

These two out shine all of the corals.Their black and white coloration is very solid and they literally glow. Both are local captive bred, Black Ocellarius "Colby" clowns. I hope and check for eggs frequently.

The pair of clowns host the Frog spawn,Pectina and chalice in that order.

Apparently clowns will eat the sweeper tentacles off of all these varieties.I witnessed the female trimming one day.Reportedly you can even trim them yourself!

I suppose this is how I have managed to keep the Pectina next to all the other corals. Most notably a chalice, lobos and SPS.

You should get an updated FTS to show some of your progress, that tank is a coral Jungle now! Gonna have to hack through it before too long!

On another note I had a heat related indecent and lost a couple acros so I am gonna need a few frags here soon, maybe we can work out a trade of sorts? I recently acquired a couple nice LPS I could slice into and I think they are different morphs of the same species you already have so no fighting.

Thank you Bert.Updating my thread is in the works.I would love to trade corals, anytime.Everyone may feel free to send me a personal message. However the SPS grows extremely slow in this aquarium and as a result I do not trade them out that often.I currently have a OG Alien Eye chalice and Pectina that need propagating. If anyone is interested.

The Inverts

In the secondary display I have a wheelers gobie (pictured) paired with a Alpheus pistol shrimp. The little guy is over 3 years old.I will get a actual picture of him here someday. He is extremely difficult to photograph because the wheelers is camera shy.The best I can do for now is share this link.Special thanks to forum member Reefing Madness at R2R for the ID and link.

There are also numerous brittle stars, asterinas and stomatella snails residing in the aquarium.

Under the ESHOPPS corner rack I have had this scallop looking critter for many years.

Here you can see the PSP that managed to find it's way into my display.I don't know how this happened.I think it is punishment for actually stating "I hate Purple Star Polyps."
