PowderBlue
Wow love the new tank and the rockscape! What kind of corals are you planning to stock the tank with? Thanks!I'm going mainly LPS and zoas but will throw some sps in the mix as well. So I guess a mixed reef haha Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk

PowderBlue
I like the new scape better that big chunk of Pukani looks sweet! Thanks! I like it much bettet than the first attempt. PowderBlue
Well it's been about 2 weeks since the tank first got wet and everything has now been transfered over into its new forever home from my 10 gallon fusion. The tank has been super stable so far, with the typical diatom bloom being the only issue. I test everyday at the same time just to see where things stand and its 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and after my water change yesterday, maybe 5ppm nitrates I think I finally found a good mix with the Artics for my eye, I'm running them at 65 percent blue and 15 percent whites. Corals pop and the water doesn't look crazy blue, I can still see the details in my fish, which I really like. Too much blues and they look like a blob swimming around. Here's a fts My little coral island from my 10 gallon, the new rose bubble tip, and my clown from upscales, it's some special type but I can't remember what Top down shot can you find Dory in this one Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk
rbeyer80
Coming along nicely, love the shallow tank Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
PowderBlue
I picked up the big colony of Frogspawn yesterday, it was pretty white when I picked it up, I'm going to attempt to change the color and see how it goes. The tips have a nice purple tint to them, but I'm pretty sure I can make the green really pop over time! I grabbed a few fish as well from upscales, a hippo, a yellow tang, and I have my clown and also a six line. Everything seems to be getting along great! Emerald525
Looking good. It's nice to be able to have bigger fish in there too. That's the main thing I miss about having a smaller tank. I like the minimal rock work. Are you planning on doing softies and Lps or are you going to do Sps? Did you use Dr. Tims? I did not have any nitrites either when I cycled the fusion 20 and same thing just a mild diatom bloom.
PowderBlue
I cycled some of the rock for about 2 months, some of the rock I had was from an up and running tank, and then I had the small amount of rock from my 10 gallon fusion. I also used sand from the fusion and filter media as well. Started with all new rodi water and had basically no spike in the setup. I still test daily due to the new fish and just out of curiosity and everything is gravy still! I'm going to do some sps, I'm picking up a calcium rector from Matty this tueaday! So after that I'll be able to house sps and not stress so much. Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk
Emerald525
Yeah I prefer a calcium reactor for a bigger system. So much cheaper than dosing just takes time to get them dialed in but once they are its smooth sailing. What are you using for nitrite removal?
PowderBlue
I'm going to carbon dose for nitrate removal. If u can get it dialed in. Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk

PowderBlue
Small update Just tested for ammonia and nitrates, I introduced about 4 fish over the past 2 weeks. The ammonia is still 0 and nitrates are looking between 0 and 5 ppm I've been feeding the tangs heavily and my other fish every other day. The tank seems to be extremely stable! It might be the skimmer being rated for almost 200 gallons, or the fact that I have about 100 pounds of rock with 60 gallons of water, whatever it is, I'm happy! Big thank you to Pippa and emose from the forums for the deals on yhe corals and fish! Everything is super healthy and I've nearly killed all of my aptasia! This little guy is a nutcase! He crashes through my Duncan's like every 3 or 4 hours. Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk
