Since the skimmer uses reclaimed air to create the bubbles how would it oxygenate the water like a traditional skimmer?

I have an added a hose to my skimmer so it can suck fresh air from outside the stand. It seams to help with PH and cloudy water. I have even noticed a difference if I open the windows in y house vs using my A/C in the summer.

John, It was great talking with you as well last night! I learned a lot from you about pnwmas, the saltwater industry and who some of the important industry people are in the region! I am looking forward to meeting you and other pnwmas members at the show. It's always fun talking with people that have been in the saltwater industry as long as I have. This is very exciting joining the society and putting on this event December 6th at Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn, WA.

My protein skimmer makes people scratch their heads as to how it works & I love that! LOL  I hope to see a lot of members at the show.

The event is free, covered parking is free, raffle tickets are free, & there will be free coffee & tea for guests. So come join us everybody!

Angler, you have an interesting question! The term Oxygenate is misleading. All other current protein skimmer designs draw into the water whatever is in the air of the room the aquarium is in. This includes carbon dioxide, dust, pollen, & in some cases perfumes, air fresheners & cigarette smoke. The owner of sierra Fish & Pets once told me a customer was having health problems with his saltwater aquarium and he thought it may be caused by something in the room air being drawn into his tank through the protein skimmer?

The PRO-TEIN CLEAN TouchLess Plug & Play protein skimmer recirculates the same air over & over so not only is it completely silent  with No Sucking sounds or sewage odors, it does NOT introduce new contamination continuously into your aquarium like all other models. In fact for the first time ever you can specifically control what air is recirculated by adding what you want such as pure oxygen or carbon dioxide.

Aquarium Paradise store in Lakewood saturates a display tank with carbon dioxide because its a soft & hard coral only tank.

You can simply detach the rubber tube at top and connect it to your source of preferred air type and it will draw it into the water pump and into the collection chamber where after you reattach the rubber tube will recirculate over & over.

That was Boring Dave who posed that last question. If you look closer at our names you will see what I am talking about.

Any who, did I miss as to what the price point will be? If not when will the price point be made available. I am hoping its before your showing.

Again, good luck

I was wondering the same thing you know a silent auction is a killer because those with the deep pockets who always want the best of everything will win but that doesnt count for the normal every day type person :)

Does look like a nice system so who got one and how about reviews

Please do not take this wrong I just don't understand the benefits of a reusing the air. I understand it helps with not having to adjust the skimmer.   If I am wrong please let me know but a skimmer helps drive off CO2 and add oxygen both of which are beneficial for a reef aquarium.  I think since this a novel design that you should have a video of it being used as a skimmer for a fully loaded reef aquarium.  I am not trying to be negative but if the air is being recirculated then an additional source for oxygenating the water will be needed.   Without data (at least I have not seen any) to back up your claims I would not trust using this skimmer without some other way to oxygenate the water.  If that is the case then I think you should state that.   Also if you add pure oxygen or some other gas to the skimmer it will not stay pure because it will eventually become a mixture of the dissolved gases in the aquarium water.  I think there are some kind of concentrate gradient law(s) that would show that.  I am not trying to be negative but you want people to silent bid on the skimmer but you really have not presented useful data to convince me to buy one.  Just my 02:)

Nice post I don't think anyone would be personal giving there 2 cents or having questions I know setting up a 4000 dollar system I [language filter] sure would want data LOL That's why I was wondering who got one and what they paid and how its working id like to see someone run it for a year or two before I got into something like that.

Not only that I did something like this in another sport I wont get into it or what it was because I cant but if something new does come out big time makers with Factories can pump these out like candy and drive prices down big time.

But I would think a lot of test's would need to be done and for me when I see someone pumping something out so big and then don't come back to say what they sold for or how there running to me personally is odd but like your post I don't mean no hard either please forgive me I always ask whats on my mind or say just a habbit and I do mean with the best respect as well :)

I do love knew things for sure that are proven and researched :)

      Good morning,
I'll be mixing up water in the next day or two, and adding seed rock and sand to my tank hopefully this weekend.   I'm considering holding off for a few weeks to let my tank cycle on its own prior to adding a protein skimmer.
My thoughts are that the initial ammonia -> nitrite -> nitrate cycle needs to happen unencumbered... I would time the addition of a skimmer to coincide with adding livestock a few weeks down the road.
      Any thoughts?
      Nate
(fwiw - My tank specs are in the build thread under nano's)

      Hello Everybody!
I just went to the last meeting, but just in case I didn't get to meet you I just wanted to properly introduce myself! So I am currently a student at OSU, and I found out that both my tutor Miles Taylor, and I are both into the aquarium hobby. So he told me about PNWMAS, and that there was a meeting coming up, so I was more than happy to come. It was great to meet a lot of you. So I do have a few tanks here in my dorm and back home.  Right now I have a 14 gallon nano cube, a 5 gallon goldfish tank, and a 3 gallon mangrove tank. But back home  in California I have a 120 gallon fish only saltwater system, a 28 gallon nano cube, a 55 gallon freshwater, and a pond. If you want to see the stuff I've kept over the years I have a youtube channel and instagram with the same user name, "aquariumaster" . I'll also attach some videos and pictures here.  But ya, I'm just really happy to be a part of this and I look forward to going to the upcoming meetings!
      Here is my 120 gallon:

and heres my old bamboo shark ( she now actually lives at SeaWorld San Diego!):

WOW! That was a pretty impressive December party/meeting yesterday, there was tons of food, plenty to drink, bunches of corals, many a people, and the HUGE Raffle! It Was Big!!!
Like many of you after much preparation and packing of corals, I had a bit of traveling to do before getting to relax with my fellow reefers at the meet. Fortunate for me I was carpooling with the PNWMAS Corvallis Branch Kireek, Miles, and Lexinverts. All avid reefers with good conversation subject matter so the ride was painless.

Right before I left out the front door I had to check my PNWMAS page one more time and saw a couple new messages in the December meeting thread most noticeably this post here that caught my eye...
When I read this post online in the December meeting thread and saw this sign at The Premium Aquarium  I was stoked! I love Garret and the TPA crew!

I decided that it isn't fair for me to go without letting my crew go as well. So, I'm gonna close the shop from 2pm until 4:30pm so that everyone can join in on the fun! We are all excited to see everyone!

I am really happy he is the cool guy he is and made the change in their busy work schedule for some fun with the PNWMAS Club.

Unfortunately I was a tad bit late on arrival and there was a number of people whom had already arrived. I am very grateful for our killer Board Of Directors and Office members, they had everything setup and ready to go ahead of time.

Raffles were promised and raffles were delivered!!! Look at this line up! Need,More, Tickets...

And the white elephant gift exchange was in full effect! This table had some of the gifts and there were a number still at another table, there were 20+ participants with varying gifts.

We packed the place, banquet room was full, and everyone was having fun.

A very nice venue that was pretty accommodating considering how busy they were. We had 4 tables for our meet discluding the raffle table and the gift exchange table. Very cool.

Kireek, Flashy Fins, KKnight, and Reefermadness saved me a spot at the end of the table, more good company.

So I am thinking I am going to start with the gift exchange and then move through the rest of the pics. Kinda backwards I know but I think it will work out just right here.

What the Hey, Gift exchange it is.

Gill&Fin received a stylish beanie to keep her head warm, VHO Actinic bulbs, and then some. You never know with this game do you?

Flashy Fins found Dori! and some sweet socks, I believe they have found their proper home right here, I have seen some colorful sock on this one.

Kireek with the book that ended up to be a very nice doctor Sues, hide it from the white elephant thieves. I mean "Who" doesn't like the classics?

Speaking of Dori and Nemo look what we have here. YouCallmenny here with a smile...He knows whats up, he knows.

Emerald with some Hikari frozen food packs, the corals and fish are gonna eat well tonight! I have recently been using a decent amount of there product in change over some inferior ones, this one has much less water fouling liquids and particles in the cubes.

IntoTheMystic got a whole lota kisses! Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. That will be an upcoming holiday diet for many of us I think. Just take it one Kiss at a time my friend and it will all be good.

Bycicle Bill unwrapped an automatic feeder, it sounded like something he had some extensive experience with and would use a backup...Sadly enough this was stolen from him in very short time, thats the way the White Elephant rolls. Sorry Bill.

Righttirefire had a brief run in with the Captain but his visit with Morgan was short lived, like a thief on the high seas the Captain Moran was snatched from him in no time. What can you do.

Sirena and the remote control angelfish, now you need the clownfish too so you can both get in on the interactive aquarium. The fish and corals will love it, I have been wanting to try one out on my aggresive powder blue but the tang is so dang fast.

Flash21 unwrapping his bottle of Aquavitro Fuel...That I stole very shortly after. I needed more of the stuff man, I hope you understand and there are no hard feelings. My corals thank you.

Bubbarockies left with a motion picture for the after party entertainment, its an interesting one that's for sure. Hope the Captain America works out for you.

Stylaster got a Brick of chocolate bars, there are certainly worse things thats for sure. I have yet to have an issue with having too much good chocolate.

Whoop Whoop!!! She found Nemo! And some stylish reef socks. I wish my kids would do this when they got their shirts and socks...Maybe I need to get ones with octopus, seahorse, and clownfish.

Holly Cap that was Fun!!! But what about those raffles?..

Lets see, I think Holly has that under control here.

I must apologize again for the pictures, there was less "posing" that usual and my angles were not were they should have been. That being said this is what I did capture. Bubbarockies snagging a nice gift certificate to good old Rocky Mountain Frags, there is some choice stuff there thats fir sure.

Miles was excited that he walked home with the generous frag pack donated by Paratore, Cody's Surprise! There was a few nice things in there yeah, Thanks Cody.

Look at the energy in this shot, ecstatic about it, KKnight won one of the Grand Prizes, the duel MP 40s! Talk about an upgrade, glad you have a tank large enough to use em cause they sure make alot of motion in the ocean.

      And Say What!?

Once the winning number of the other grand prize Red sea Nano All In One was called people just looked, Cody still gathering himself in disbelief looking at his ticket.

And YES!!! Paratore is the lucky One.

      Speaking of Lucky Ones...

This Gyre was won with just the free membership raffle ticket you get from being a payed member. It Pays to to be part of the official crew. I won an MP 10 the same way a few years back.CHEERS to you!

Congratulations too all of you who won at the raffles, there was alot of sponsors pooled into this one as well as some club funds to make this amazing thing happen, and boy did it happen.

Thank You Holly, Jorge, Miles, KKnight, Garret, MattV, TheClark, and Softy.

A Special Thanks to President Emerald, First Lady Sirena, Treasurer Mr.Bret, they put in a lot of effort into this particular meet and it sure payed off guys and gals. We Appreciate it.

It has been a good year y'all and I am honored to have been working along side a good group of people like this...Thank You.

And now what say you about even more pictures!?
