CuttleFishandCoral
I thought this was a well written article about SPS dipping. I do pretty much the same thing except use Bayer instead of coralrx. Beware the maricultured plugs! http://reefbuilders.com/2015/08/15/quarantine-corals/
reefnjunkie
Great link and advise there-this is a practice I live by and a must for the long hual as mentioned in his thread
jadams7
What ratio do you guys use for the Bayer dip? The article says 400ml/2.5 gallons, I dont think I have gone that high, but certainly could if its of some benefit.
reefnjunkie
That is actually the same as I do, 10mls per cup 15 minutes then 3 good basted rinses. I've accidentally left a frag in the solution for close to 7 hours and although stressed a couple months later it looked like nothing happened.
Lexinverts
Whatever came of the hullabaloo over Bayer being discontinued because of its effects on honeybees? Did they change the formula or is this the same stuff? I need to get some more so I wanted to see if the Bayer Complete from Home Depot is still the stuff to use. As an aside, I've seen Aussies post that their version of Bayer has different ingredients but also works well against flatworms.
reefnjunkie
The Aussie stuff mixes clear too, BONUS Lowes sells Bayer as does any Ace Hardware I've been in-Lowes is cheapest
CuttleFishandCoral
Everybody remember that RPS dip(reef pest solution) that came out a while ago(the blue stuff)...turns out that was repackaged bayer with some food coloring and a few other things added.
