matty
I was able to pick this sweet tank up from Jesse and am going to put it in my office at work. Tank is an 8g Nuvo, I will use a Nano-Box tide for light and an Mp10 for some extra flow. I'm using starboard for the bottom, I wanted BB but hate the look of glass, this looks kinda like sand but without the hassle of it. I'm looking for ideas on what to stock it with, I kinda want to make a species tank of some sort and try some SPS for coral. Here are a couple pics, I will be taking it to the office and setting it up in the next day or 2.

I think you should should have some tangs in there like maybe a naso tang and an Achilles and a few yellow tangs! ???? seriously though someone had a nice one with maxi minis and ricordias would look sweet !

reefnjunkie
I would have mentioned acans except I experienced more color morphing when lit with LED vs T5 That can be on the next tank
fishmanmike01
I'd do a really nice frog/scorpion fish. That would be pretty sweet.
matty
The view from my desk I have to say, I see what the hype is about these lights. The color is awesome and they really pack a punch for their small size. I am still getting used to the storm controller but it's pretty straight forward. I should have water in the tank tomorrow! NoobtoSalt
Acans would look nice in there. Acans did look good in it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Emerald525
That is beautiful color. Nice office tank! Kicking myself for not getting that tank but I was trying to stay "sober"
matty
It kinda sucks, now that I have seen how clean the Nuvo's are and how well built, I'm kinda hating on my biocube now! Lol Time to save up for a larger nuvo!
Exodus
Looks awesome, be careful with that MP10 though, it will get pretty intense for such a small tank
Mandinga
Very nice n clean looking tank there! Lol about the biocube:) I have an mp10 in my 3gallon...and honestly it's the perfect power head for nanos/picos.

matty
Tank has been running for about a week now and staying stable, I added Dr. Tim's one and only this time and am using the ammonia to see how it works for cycling. The Mp10 is working out good for flow especially with the starboard bottom, no sand is nice!
jadams7
Let me know how you like that starboard bottom after a while. I have been tossing around the idea of using that for years, just never have for some reason. Its a real nice look!
Emerald525
I actually love the look of bare bottoms . It's a nice clean look. I was going to go bare on my nano but decided on the sand for more biofilm ration. Looking good Matty! I may go bare on the cube but will probably have a sump.
matty
Thought I should update this thread with at least a FTS. Tank is doing awesome, coralline algae in this tank has exploded, I guess I'm doing something right. Here's A shot from today.
Lexinverts
It looks great! What are you doing for Ca and Alk? Are you dosing 2-part or just doing water changes?

Blue Z Reef
Looks great man! Question, does the starboard float or sink? I've got a sheet of abs in my frag tank and it floats so kind of a pain
matty
Thank you for the kind words, I am enjoying having this tank at work. I don't dose anything, just weekly water changes with Red Sea coral Pro. The Starboard doesn't float, I actually left a small gap on the corner so I can lift it though to vacuum under it if it becomes an issue, so far so good.
