Derbird 696 Posted July 13, 2012 Just a thought. Did you gut the metal out of it. Any unprotected metal would most likely corrode and copper / brass would be toxic to marine life. Man why didn't I think of something like that DOH!
Hatcher2014 10 Posted July 13, 2012 im not really sure what type of metal it is but i think im pretty safe but just to make sure im going to get an eye on it but for the most part it all seems to be doing fine no discoloration in the water but when the wife gets back from visiting family we will take it apart and spray the underneath part of the gumball machine other than that there really isnt any other place but thanks for the heads up on it. Hatcher2014 10 Posted July 14, 2012 Well it was for sure my wife's idea I just came up with the design ideas and she helped build it i just hope it goes well if I would have used a square bowl it would have taken away the magnifying look but I didn't think it would have looked as cool
Gill 1,321 Posted July 14, 2012 We have a winner!!!! This is seriously cool; I am blown away. I had never seen the little heat sinks before, they look like they work really well.

Hatcher2014 10 Posted July 14, 2012 yeah i have thought about it but the thing is... is that im trying to keep the integrity of the gumball machine if that makes any sense.. but im still scheming. but thanks for the idea and im afraid thats what i might have to do

Derbird 696 Posted July 15, 2012 Sounds good to me. Plus if the new amendment goes through you wont even have to worrie about it. All live stock would be free You may want to wait until you see some algea growth in the tank before adding them though. Don't want your critters to starve. They can just wait in the 265 until your bubble gum tank is ready. Still very cool by the way.
