Lined puffer stressed help

Hi I just added a lined puffer to my tank earlier today.. Its just laying on the bottom flapping it's find fast and has blotchy skin. Water parameters are all fine that I know of. Corals and other fish are doing great. When I added him I only acclimated him for like 5 minutes... Floated bag, and added cup of my tank water to bag. Then released him. I also forgot to turn lights out!! Ha any ideas on this or normal? When I turn lights out and put blanket over tank to make it pitch black, he comes out and swims. He's just still getting used to tank right? Thanks

I dont think putting a blanket over your tank be necessary. Fish put in a stressful situation sometimes stay on the bottom breathing and flapping hard. Keep an eye on him, but give him space as well. Some fish don't take change well.

and what do you mean by blotchy skin?

ime puffers are very hardy.
