tidalsculpin
I am going to build my kids a playset this Spring. Do you have a good plan. I've looked at Home Depot, Jerry's and the commercial kits. I think I can build something more interesting and creative for less. Any Moms or Dads done this before? Got a fun plan?

Twitterbait
I helped my bro build the one they got for a really good price from Costco. I would recommend getting a kit, they do a lot of saftey steps in the kits that you might forget.
tidalsculpin
Hey thanks. I picked up a better homes and gardens book. It has a good plan. I think I can build a set design for around 800 bucks. Anyways, we decided to put in a sandbox this year and build a woodchip play area for now. Next year we'll put in the playset. They'll be ready for it then. The sandbox is built. The raised woodchip area will be a summer project.
Barelycuda
I have built a playset/playhouse a few years back. My wife picked up the swingset hardware kit like you can buy at home depot & then I modified it to have a A-frame like a swing set would have at one end & butt into the playhouse at the other side. It sounds a little confusing but i'll round up a picture or two for you to see. We have been very pleased & the entire project ended up costing around $600. I even sided it with hardi plank to match the house. Cuda

tidalsculpin
Looks great!!! It is close to what I have been thinking too. How deep were the post holes for the swing? It looks like there are no postholes for the playhouse. Does the house sway when swings are in use?
