reefnjunkie
1st post 1. Your first post must include a quick writeup of your system in the competition thread. Including tank size, flow, lighting, placement of the frag, equipment (ie calcium reactor, dosing, etc) 1st off I will say I am starting with the competition piece in my frag tank which is plumbed into my main system so its all the same "water". I have a pump in one of my sumps (yes I have 2 sumps plumbed together-(nutty) , 1 about 100 gallons the other being 75) that feeds the frag tank and then the return drains back into the same sump. Emerald525
Unfortunately you will probably need to repost a picture with the "official ruler" that was given to you from Beth/Kim. The reason everyone needs to use the same ruler is due to consistency between everyone's rulers. I know it sounds dumb but look at the last SPS GO and you will understand more..(laugh) Yes that's right Omar. You have to use the oh so expensive, high quality official SPS GOC ruler that was provided to you.(laugh) I know it's a pain.(nutty) I bought these in bulk and did not notice there was so much space at the endDOH!. 1. Emerald525
Sure Kim blame the elegance coral before it has even begun (laugh) LOL I just have not had much luck with these growouts. I had the zoas blow off the plug with one growout. The most recent one I had them fall into the elegance corals. If I would just leave the little frag alone all would probably be well but I know that's not going to happen.... (laugh)

Maybe I should just shave the bottom of the ruler-IMHO placing the ruler on the plug will be best/easiest/most consistant/ etc Let me know what you think-(welcome to the world of "running a grow out-(laugh))
Jeramy
I think that As long as you are getting a reading of zero at the base of the frag you can do it as you please. however if you would like to place it at the base of the ruler and start with a handicap by all means dont let me get in your way =)

Thanks Jeramy. If he wants to start at negative 2cm I'm all for it.... I agree. Again I am hoping it will be obvious. Another thing that will probably happen is some of the frags will curve downward and maybe branch as well. At least that's what happened with the other growout. This will continue to be a work in progress.... Again I am hoping that there will be an obvious winner and that that obvious winner will be me... reefnjunkie
ah the love here is deep. Kim you may want to keep that pic of the TEC so you can open that file later to view what it looks like. This holds true for Noob and Jeremy. I think the odds of any of you winning are about the same as Elvis and I doing lunch -(scary) It just is not going to happen. For now, I need to get back to work, I am watching a tutorial on You Tube about the fundamentals of using a ruler-(rock2) so please let me leave you with this to keep in mind

Hewey McLovit
Alright i have to admit it's hard taking a photo by yourself and measuring, but mine is about .5cm shorter then this pic.
