Derbird
I am no expert but I have observed the hermits trying to get food and other goodies out of my hammer and fungia which both pack a good sting. If they thought there was some thing tasty on the nem I don't think they are smart enough to leave it alone. The clowns won't let them close to my condy so I haven't seen them on him. don_chuwish
Our peppermint will steal stuff right out of coral's mouths. Hermits will get all over the sun coral colony after I take away the bottle top. But neither ever seem to do any harm. Just good clean thieving. - D
Islandoftiki
Yeah, I have to make sure my cleaner shrimp are well fed first before I feed my hammer or they'll steal food right out of it's mouth. I'm sure hermits are just as opportunistic.
