andy
At the Sunday club meeting, our guest speaker (sorry, name and company forgotten DOH!) presented on the benefits of his company's new MH ballasts. I had a rough idea what he was talking about, but a fair bit went over my head. The following links helped fill in a few gaps for me, maybe they'll be useful to others... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-intensity_discharge_lamp http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrical_ballast http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenon_arc_lamp The last link is listed as a curiosity; the presenter mentioned something about looking towards xenon lamps... it'll be interesting to see how they pursue that, given xenon bulb's tendency towards grenade-like explosions when dropped (scary)

I wonder what this will all pan out to be in th hobby.
