cellowithgills
Trying to get an idea of people's pH swing from day to night. Post what you do to try to control it.
Bigjohnwoody
Mine goes from a high of about 8.0 to a low of about 7.8. I run reverse lighting in my fuge, and I also run Co2 absorbent to combat the excess Co2 from the CalRx, and the house.
MVPaquatics
Have good stronger buffering abilities and yes a reverse light cycle
pnkrcklives
Mine has been swinging from about 8.2-8.4. I also run a reverse light cycle on the fuge.
cellowithgills
I just added baked baking soda to my tank and watch in horror as my pH went from 7.48 to 8.23(scary). It went back down to 7.85 and is holding steady now.
pnkrcklives
Mine holds with a .20 swing(8.20-8.40). All I do is two 5 gallon each water changes a week.
TRENT
8.2-8.4, run Kalk in ATO. fuge light on 24/7.
Nate213
0.2 swing here also. 8.0 to 8.2. Fuge light on reverse cycle and controller shuts off CO2 if it gets below 7.85.
reefnjunkie
(laugh) can be as low as 7.65 at night and 8.3 during the day (during the summer) but maybe 8.0 if I am lucky during the winter-(clap) I gave up caring about PH or I should say "chasing the perfect PH" about 18 months ago, I let my corals "show" me if they are not happy So my answer would be I do nothing-I can say I tried a 2nd chamber, dripped Kalk, drew air in from an outside source to feed the skimmer and thats just off the top of my head and after those hoops, nothing changed- In the early years I was always after those "perfect" numbers
impur
8.5-8.3 for me. I also use soda lime to absorb CO2 feeding my skimmer.
grassi
8.4 night, 8.5 day If you don't correct ph depending on the temperature, keep in mind that too
siskiou
8.0-8.2, fuge light on at night, Kalk in ATO, checking alkalinity regularly and correct, if needed, and calibrate pH probe about once a month, as I've been tricked by wrong readings before! ocboat
+1. I don't even check PH of the tank anymore, my one PH probe is in my calcium reactor.
